Yes it's true the human torcg was not on the 70's cartoon , replaced with herbie, because the producers we afraid kids were going to lite themselves to be like the human torch. But I've also read there was a copyright issue with using the name "human torch". There was an issue of the fantastic four involving a kid burning himself to be like johnny storm, back in the 1980's. I enjoy watching your vids! Great work and you are very relaxing to listen to!From one 70's/ 80's kid to the other, you got great taste in comicbooks and movies!
@@tonys8641 Thanks Tony!! That's right, Herbie. I have a 70s Fantastic Four boardgame with Herbie in it, and surprisingly not the Human Torch! Now it makes sense. Gen X all the way! Horror in the 70s can't and never will be matched. Those movies set the bar for decades to come. Have a great week, and thanks for watching
Good grabs from Cheap Comic Collector's claim sales! DC Impact's The Fly was the best series of the whole line in my humble opinion. It was a fun, old school superhero series that benefited a lot from the art of Mike Parobeck (who sadly died way too young). I believe the name of the artist you were looking for the Ghosts of Doctor Graves cover is Tom Sutton. Marvel' Defenders concept, a group with irregular membership that was suppose to rotate a lot, was a cool one that they didn't exploit enough. The earlier issues covers mostly by the great Gil Kane were awesome. To answer your question, I think Invaders # 1 for $40 is a fair price depending on condition(VF or higher).
Sutton!! Yes. Love those Graves covers!! Just binge read my Defenders books, and want more!! 😂. Really enjoyed the first two Fly issues also. I'm gonna jump on that Invaders book also. Have a great one Ranger
Thanks, Rob, it's going to be cool to watch the whole process on how the show is going to be put together, and then go live on Christmas Eve. I keep picturing the Rehearsal scenes for a Christmas Carol in the movie Scrooged..lol.
Mornin' Joe 👊 70s horror movies are absolutely the best. There is a podcast I'd like to recommend: Decades of Horror : Movie Reviews of 1970s Classic Horror Movies. The opening scene of Thor Ragnarok is one of my all-time favorite Marvel movie scenes. I've only read the first issue of Spawn, but I would definitely like to read more. From what I remember, The Human Torch was supposed to be featured in a stand alone series - but that never made it. I always thought he was never featured because kids would try to set themselves on fire to copy him 😅 Looking forward to the radio show. Take care Amigo 🫡
I was thinking about a 70s type podcast or even horror throughout the years. Hit up on all media involved. That Human Torch theory of yours is probably about 90% accurate, kids are kinda crazy like that. Have a good one Mike see ya soon
