Tko nebi htio živjeti u toj ljepoti......
I am from Brazil and I lived in Zadar during 3 months in 1994.Lovely place and lovely people. Then I moved to Gospic up on the Velebit Mountains. It was winter time and was snowing like hell, but I also loved it.
@Bastinjo Zara was actually almost entirely italian while the italian minorities were in Split/Spalato and Traù/Trogir and Dubrovnik.Ragusa . Spalato was always croatian however Zara was always italian.

@sikira001 I have no doubt that Zara is bautiful....in fact It was us the ones to build it....not to repeat myself but it's is a clear example of how to be beautiful with someone else's things
@sikira001 "The strong croatian spirit in the city..." How could a city inhabited 100% by italians have a croatian spirit? The city bombing was asked by croatians exactly for this reason, because It was the "Latin Spine" on the Dalmatian coast...there were almost no croats in the city at that time...the croats kept on telling americans that Zara was a very important center for nazis (and it was false) in order to have it bombed by americans.
@sikira001 Have you asked yourself why croatia is not entering the EU at the moment? It's because it doesent disclose its responsibilities in the Yugoslav war...but how can we expect your country to do this if still today doesen't accept an history of 80 years ago the way it really is and keeps on rewriting it...
@sikira001 The name Zadar came to be only after wwII, it never existed before, that city was always Zara, and for us is still Zara, it was you to change the names of the street, it was you to change the name of the city, along with Pola, Fiume and so on....the only croatian spirit was the one of the butchers' who sent people in foibe and in the sea....
@sikira001 actually it was you who had it destroyed by the americans...and apart from the water organ I don't see anything beautiful in what was rebuilt after wwII....city landmarks are still those built by us, so is Ragusa, Spalato and so on...
@CroAuslander That's exactly what I said....you know the meaning of "average"? This means that Italians usually score 102 and croatians usually score 90....that's all, doesen't matter if we are 60 million and you are 4 million
@sikira001....Dear, this is not a croat movie....this is real history...not a single day of Zara's history was croat till WW2....read real books and then speak, Zara was 100% Italian, and that's why the Croat tried their best to have it bombed by the angloamerican....by telling it was an important nazi coordination center while poor Zara was not even a big port and had no strategic relevance....
@vulingo In which book did you read this? I guess on Tito's propaganda flyers....unless you want to rewrite history Zara always had an italian majority untill jugoslav annexion...and every serious historical document would say that.
Sure but what was the language spoken in Zara before 1918....I tell you: Italian! And how was the architecture? I tell you Italian!....The fact that Zara was not part of Italian kingdom before 1918 does not mean it was not italian for language adn architecture, in 1848 during risorgimento Zara starts its "moti" as any other city in pre-unitary italy, and...Zara was never part of Croatia Kingdom enough for you?
@Bastinjo All romans were original from italy dude....sorry for that....that's why are called ROMANS...and did not live with croatians, simply because there were No croats at that time....they only came later in VII century...the populations you are talking of were not slavic and had nothing to do with modern croats....while italians directly developped from this background and from venice republic the slaves came in in VII century from actual Ukraine. Zara was 90% italian, Pola 75%, Fiume 80%.
We got Zara because Mussolini put an ultimatum....you should study history much metter since Zara became part of Italian Kingdom in 1918-1919 and Mussolini only came to power in 1922 and Ante Pavelic even later in 1941.....you have a lot of confusion....
@Tavros85 I was only telling the truth man, you need to realise that the only time Zadar and parts of Istria and Dalmatia were in Italian domain is when you occupied those lands...even in the World War 2, you got Zadar because Musolini put an ultimatum to Ante Pavelić. But i would gladly exchange Zadar, Dalmatia and Istria for the lands that Croatia had in WW2, that is Bosnia and Parts of Serbia and Montenegro....
Luckily, nobody care for what you think. Croatia is FREE, and we don't care nor we need ANYTHING to do with bosnia, and especialy with serbia and montenegro. ALL Croatians would sign to be Italian land before then serbian, (yugoslavian). This story is over FOREVER.
Today's Zadar built under Tito is actually very ugly , the real Zara with the beautiful venetian and renaissance buildings was destroyed by the anglo yugoslavian bombardments which flatten 90% of the historical city center.
@Tavros85 You know that Croatia has only 4milion people? By your talk i cant belive that Italians are so smart as you say....plz stop talking rubbish...
@CroAuslander I see you have huge history knowledge lacks...at roman time croats and croatian didn't even exist....you are talking of ROMANS...you say that....slavic population only came in in the VII century...and were never a majority on coasts and cities and were not a leading culture since were mostly land workers and farmers, actually those lands were first roman, then bizantyne, then venetian...in few words...italian....
@CroAuslander Japods, Dalmatians, Illiryans WERE NOT slavic tribes :) ha ha ha.....they were pre roman populations, there were NO slavic population in europe untill 600 AC...and the proto-slavic language is attested from VIIth century.....unfortunately for you history cannot be changed...better if you learn it properly and not from tito's school books
@Bastinjo Zara was the only REAL Italian city in dalmatia, it was 100% Italian and that's why Tito wanted it to be totally destroyed....over a population of 40.000 inhabitants 35.000 were italian, you have killed 10.000 and other 20.000 have emigrated....
@CroAuslander The problem is that you confuse Italian annexation with Italian identity, Zara was always italian for identity and culture, that's it...even under austrian occupation most of the newspaper were edited in Italian. Only under the latter part of the austrian period, due to the big fear that Zara could decide to join Italian kingdom the Austrian encouraged Croatian immigration.

Zadar NO.1
Sure but what was the language spoken in Zara before 1918....I tell you: Italian! And how was the architecture? @vulingo just check....
@CroAuslander Then stop learn history as he wanted to....

@Tavros85 Thats not "Tito's history" thats the truth, but that traitor brought more pain to my people than you Italians in 200years
ono je zadarski sud a ne filozofsko sveuciliste!! samo se krov filozofskog vidi u pozadini.
@Tavros85 You know that Croatia has only 4milion people? By your talk i cant belive that Italians are so smart as you say....plz stop talking rubbish...
I suggest you to study in a better way the history. Zara/Zadar legally belonged to Italy from 1920 to 1947. Put your useless nationalism aside, please
@CroAuslander I see you have huge history knowledge lacks...at roman time croats and croatian didn't even exist....you are talking of ROMANS...you say that....slavic population only came in in the VII century...and were never a majority on coasts and cities and were not a leading culture since were mostly land workers and farmers, actually those lands were first roman, then bizantyne, then venetian...in few words...italian....
srpski zadar!!!
Cvili crve cvili.....To je sve što možeš....
hahahaahahah
