Nah. There are so many systems in the game that make dying before level 8/9 fine in top lane. It literally allows you to play the game faster than your opponent since going b at low HP means sitting for 8 seconds to recall, then probably 8-10 seconds in the fountain, then running out at normal speed. When you die at low levels, you respawn in like 8-12 seconds (0 if you're Sion or Karthus) and then get homeguard to run back to lane. Then there's the bounty system that overvalues kills. Then there's the plating protection before 5 minutes.
It's not that bad to die early top as long as you're pushed up or have TP. His chat literally does not understand that's why he does it. Or they do and they're just assholes. He nearly always dies right when he can afford his first item component or Cull. That way he has what he refers to as a tempo advantage, an item advantage, usually a farm advantage, and if he was pushed up, a TP advantage. Sure his team carries him a lot, but that's everyone. If you just stay in the game you will win about 50% of your matches.
Compare that to dying early bottom where it's likely to result in a 600 gold swing, there is no turret plating protection, so you lose plating too, and then you also lose dragon advantage. Dying top is a completely different animal entirely.

To be fair, Baus' flash usage is questionable at times to say the least. Every now and then I see him flash to get out with 1 HP just to die anyway. Other times he holds on to it even though he could have lived.
But then again, I am just a Platinum scrub, so I guess I don't get it.

Baus hating on the most physically demanding sport in modern history always makes me chuckle lol.
As a soccer player not only did I excel over everyone in my class in soccer, but in every other sport, solely because of my cardio. I'm able to give 110% effort for as long as necessary. I ran that 100 meter field back and forth at least 500x a day. Soccer was my life, I played it every day, 10 hours a day. My body was chiseled, and I had never lifted any weights. There's a reason soccer players retire earlier than any other sport, and it's because it's the most physically demanding sport, and with age your body slows down. It's very rare to see soccer players over the age of 30 still playing in top tier teams.
It's the #1 most popular sport in the world for a reason.
