Thank you for sharing the idea of using the powder with alcohol, I have never thought of that, but I tried it and I love it! Merry Christmas from Germany 💜
beautiful techniques, I just received my shimmer powders, and I loved your video. Small question on the last technique : Do you use alcohol and alcohol paper or just water and waterpaper ? Thank you
Jmlasoupe B94 Hi! I’m so glad you liked my video. For the last technique (shimmer powders on black cardstock) I used rubbing alcohol in a water brush pen (no water). Then I mixed the powders with rubbing alcohol and painted that mixture into regular 80lb black cardstock. That black cardstock was not watercolored cardstock bad was not treated in any way. Mixing the shimmer powders with rubbing alcohol will allow you to watercolor with them on the regular cardstock without it pulling or warping. Have fun!
Hi Nellie, In this video I’ve used a clear plastic mat from Ikea. I believe it was about $7 USD. It’s very inexpensive and works really well. I hope that helps!
margaret barry Hi, Margaret. I’m pretty sure I was using Strathmore watercolor paper for the first part. After that it was glossy cardstock and 80lb black cardstock.
How lovely! Thank you for demonstrating all those techniques!
You’re welcome! Thank you for watching!
Alcohol instead of water! So glad I found this video and your channel!

So cool :) I was wondering if you could tell me what kind of mat you are using? It looks so easy to keep clean.
