Smallmouth bass are amazing predators. They thrive across the country in cold and warm water alike. These bronzebacks are incredible fighters and feed aggressively, even in the coldest of water. Keep an eye on the channel as there is an entire series of smallmouth videos coming soon!
Tim used the Matt Allen swimbait head paired with a keitech to create a unique rocking action that these bass had never seen before. We were getting bit on nearly every cast when the big one made her mistake. Smallmouth, like most bass is prone to schooling. By triggering the smaller bass we were able to fire up the school and get this giant to make a mistake.
What an amazing fish! Huge congrats to Tim on the new personal best bass!

If you fish like i do, you know the smaller and less stuff the better. I’ve added a photo of just some of my gear so you can see how serious i am about fishing.

This was amazing. I've saltwater fished my whole life and just started bass fishing the last year. I've caught some big fish but it does come with a lot of work and heartache. I've spent a lot of money I don't have to catch them. Buuuutttttttt, it was worth it. Glad Evo was safe. Keep your safety gear close people.

Great fish, Tim! I caught a 7 1/2 at Dale Hollow 31 years ago and have been fishing there every since and have never caught one over 6 lbs. Your's is truly a fish of a lifetime! Congratulations!
Man what a roller coaster video. Went from grinning ear-to-ear to the shock of utter disappointment from the loss of a boat!!

Thanks Brother! Tim will speak his mind. This was such a difficult video because there was so much good on the heals of so much bad. We wanted to honor what really happened while still sharing the great experience with everyone. That wreck was a shock for sure... we'll tell that story at some point. On a map it wasn't bad but in reality it was 12 hours and over 100 miles of dirt road through the night pulling the boat trailer to locate them while it was raining in the 40's. Its a miracle it all worked out but everyone is good to go!
TacticalBassin thank God and great looking SM. Pretty wild country. Seen the same tree off the side of a dirt road 4 times in the High Sierra while driving around for an hour looking for my hunting party. Couldn't find them slept in the truck woke up about a mile from where I started. lol
BADASS Tim!@! Great video and some solid fish caught on the trip. I totally agree that you really need to be safe when on a boat. Great tip on the life jackets, my wife lost three cousins last year at June lake no one was wearing a life best when their boat capsized. Tragedy can strike any time. I'm glad your buddies are okay.

Nice! The cut on shore, a stream entering the lake? Washing food food for the fish into the lake?
Out of all the colors of baits how do you chose the right one? Do have a bunch and just keep changing until you get a bite or is there a resource to look up?
There isn't a resource persay. We own a lot of colors but there are some good places to start. We did a video this spring on how to choose the best colors, check it out.

i had a similar experience with my pb 8lb smallmouth. I was sitting offshore after our boat motor died and i decided to fish and I nearly had my arm ripped off when that bass hit. love when people have these experiences

Awesome guys! That lake is the land of the giants... :) I live 3 miles from it! It is a very difficult lake to fish and navigate at times, not surprised their was a cost...Glad everyone was ok-

Hey when using a baitcaster, what knot do you use to connect the braid to the leader?
"On Foot" Bassin' they use the blood knot , you can RUclips them with what knots they use and that’s what they said .
Totaled my Ranger this summer , made me sick had to be a log really scary when than BOOM Happens and the water is pouring in. Just glad that I Installed a second bilge pump . That made it possible to make it back to the dock . Then get there and had flat on trailer . What a DAY . Oh was also fishing smallies .
