Her deadpan humor is what I find particularly interesting and so wholesome. Thank you, Anne Carson, for this incredible time with Louisiana Literature! And many thanks, of course, to Louisiana Museum for bringing these insightful interviews to us!
The re-reading of Descartes is just stunning. But she's consistently wise and funny and revelatory. And Linn Ullmann does such a great job interviewing. Brilliant. Thank you, Louisiana
It's a lovely conversation. Linn Ullman is a personage in her own right- daughter of Liv Ullman and Ingmar Bergman. Very relaxed and balanced. Ullman seems to be facilitating the conversation with a real understanding of Carson's condition and her naturally retiring ways.

I once worshipped Anne Carson . I’m going to pretend that I never saw this . This way Autobiography Of Red & NOX will both remain importantly beautiful .
So, I am not the only one to see how bad an interviewer she is in this video. At the beginning, her nervous putzing around, arranging books on the table, pouring water, her nervous body language. It contributes toward making this video unwatchable. The interviewee is difficult enough, but Ms. Holman makes it hopeless.
Is she raise the question and an answered about swimming getting out of the ocean and going in and reading something about a tragedy and how we move so slightly past tragedy back into our own lives. Here on RUclips, there’s an advertisement by the father of one of the children. Also, there’s one by a mother of one of the children who were slaughtered at Sandy Hook by some kid with an AK 15 that killed 26 people in four minutes or maybe four seconds.. I will be watching something about a movie and then ad will come on and then I see down in the right hand corner of the ad that I can skip it. I am always caught by this man’s tragedy some years ago and I still see him trying to get Americans to be saying and help pass legislation that will require gun reform of the sort that Americans cannot carry an AK 15 weapon. when I’ve seen this ad come up time after time I am then caught. Do I stay here and give him the graciousness of listening when he said please do not scroll away or do I move back to my movie and leave him in telling me about the child that was slaughtered in 2012 . Anyway, this discussion by an and moving between tragedy and making a piece of toast, stays with me.
Yes and then it became extremely guilty to press the skip button even though the woman does not know of me or my finger which skips and now I have seen the advert so many times that I know it word to word to word and whisper it alongside while she speaks and sometimes I speak snippets of it while doing other things and other times I google her name to find out what happened to her after and I do not know? She speaks to me everyday and everyday I reply and it's the same conversation
I found her to be a sensitive listener, an active listener who was paying attention to the right things. when she began a line of questioning too quickly, and anne wasn't done, she retracted the line to let her extend her thought properly. i would appreciate an interlocutor like linn. i honestly don't know what you're talking about.
she was also obviously nervous and trying to listen to herself at the same time as engage her audience and subject. anne seemed to appreciate her prompts. people always assume famous artists only want to orate to a captive audience. and that any friction needs to be revenged on the artist's behalf

I long for someone to talk to, someone who understands, there is no-one now, so now I listen.
Hi
Makes sense
M its worth it! You will not depend on anyone and the urge to satisfy others will demonished
I wish I could listen to you and try to understand you.
Jesus always listens and responds. Try talking to him.

I love her so much. ' Having language with space in it is a place to go and think.'

The podcast is called Writers & Company, hosted by Eleanor Wachtel
what more does our socialism do than support human beings to be well enough to love their families despite living a financially precarious life that is hellbent on making us unwell
it makes one unwell if one does not have the wherewithal to look into being well.
Both these women seem interesting.
this is so beatiful.
Awesome!
I like her reminder that the small things are important .
Life isn't fair. And it is not easy. Parents should remind their kids of these facts.
So wonderful
Yes, i learnt cursive in the 1970's.

Amusing 😮❤
I once worshipped Anne Carson .
I’m going to pretend that I never saw this .
This way Autobiography Of Red &

if this were truly the case you'd have not left this big old " I was here and disapproved" sign
Thank you from Moscow.
Wtf, I did not know the interviewer was Ingmar Bergman's daughter. That's such a cool a confluence.

Wow, space and boxes and stuff. Highly intellectual i guess. What a performance.
Could not have picked a less articulate interviewer than this woman.
😂😂😂😂😂

Yes! How do you Eat toast after reading about the terrors happening in the newspaper; world?

amazing woman

Why is this interview entitled with life is not fair ? Is it her book or what exactly
❤❤❤
Que mujer más interesante!
The answer is: Agape. Not Cornucopia. :)
I’ll stick to the page, but now that I’ve seen, the page is changed.
Where is this line from?
@@pluto559 it’s not from anywhere
@@JSBallard you must be a great writer!
That interviewer lost it before the interview began. Sheesh
I’m kinda scared to devote an hour discussing such a subject. Three fib rule applies.

This is like an SNL sketch all of life is if we take it too seriously.
I find the interviewer quite annoying and distractive! too much gesturing with hands and constant faces... seems forced almost fake.
seems like she is doing a bit, which honestly. no
She is a bit of a performer. I enjoy that.

We're going to have to go to the trouble of listening to what you're saying to understand what you mean.
The interviewer does an excellent job on interrupt Carson all the time and to be an incredible annoying person. Nice 👌🏼.
they're both taking part in a conversation

Thank god. Carson’s slow- talking deadpan drone is so hard to listen to when she monologues.
I... love her.
Hesitating interviewer ⁉
So boring such a waste

Weird for the sake of weirdness. 🫤
