Hello Guys & gals , thank you much for your comments on my drum solo and the wonderfull baja band. I sure miss touring with those guys . [wow! the golden 60's!] I;m still playing and teaching{ thanks to my teacher, Jim Chapin. Ciao Frank De Vito
Brown Paw Hello Mr. Paw, Thanks for your kind message. We had a lot of fun playing some good music and doing a little comedy[take a look at my website for recordings I did in that era. Best regards , Frank DeVito www.frankdevitodrummer.com
These guys are clowning around, but each of them was a first-call, badass session cat. Monster players, all. Great memories associated with this music!
I met Frank and his wife once. Danielle (his daughter) and I went over there for Christmas dinner two yrs ago. He is a very charming person. I never saw him play before so this was great to see him play and clown around. God bless him.
Saw that routine in Flint Michigan when I was in high school. Sat in the front row at the new Whiting Auditorium. With a really beautiful girl. She never spoke to me again. But, it is one of my favorite shows of all time
What fun to be in a band like that! These guys were (and still are) my HEROES! I actually learned a lot from them in my studies of mallet percussion and drumming. Add the comedy element and you have a great life, for sure!! Here's to you, Julius, Frank, and all the guys!
These Guys Were Fantastic Extremely Talented Musicians Added Comedy with their Performing but make no mistake these cats were the real Deal Frank DeVito a Tremendous Drummer who in my opinion deserved so many and great acculades,.
I knew Julius in the TS world, he helped me out during a hard time and I ddn't know aboiut his celeb past because he didn't brag but we all miss you and much love... it's nice to see this and see how funny he was back then as well as handsome!
TenStarsplus !!!!!! Hahahahaha !!!!! Hahahahaha !!!!!! Fantabulous !!!!!! I laughed so hard I wet my pants!!!! Hahahahaha !!!!! Thank you for posting this!!!!!!!
So sillyyyyyyyyyyyyy/!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've wonder what of Herb Alpert, the Tijuana Brass band, Chris Montes, Dusty Springfield, Claudette Longet, Stan Getz, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Sergio Mendes and even the girls whom ever sang with Sergio Mendes. They all would of thought that the drumme is a silly ridicule craze lunatic person.

looks like you guys had a blast!
I wish there was a better video. It was a great routine.
I saw Baja Marimba Band at Melodyland in Anaheim. They came in from the back of house, "drunk", and stumbled up to the stage... great show!
I was a kid in the 60's; hope all is well.
Here from Elvis Costello 1/22/2022
Imagine dancing like that and playing the guitar, so much focus.

Thank you so much for having this on RUclips. Frank was my fathers cousin and best friend growing up.

Loved there music. Growing up, I use to listen to all of their albums my father had! Thanks!
Great entertainment, thanks for posting !
That was hilarious! I've been a fan since the 60s!
This is super-good stuff here,
with a mix of music and comedy. 😎

I MAY HAVE TO GO TO THE STORE AND GET SOME CIGARS. THESE GUYS ARE GOOD AND FUNNY.
I had forgotten about these guys. Thanks.
Damn that was funny! Thanks for posting this!
Frank Devito's drumming reminds me of another famous drummer from a cold winter evening's concert in carnegie hall, 30 years before this broadcast.

This is funny to watch. Would this be called slapstick comedy?
Childhood Hero Band........
Muito bom de vê e ouvir
Keith Moon? John Bonham? Charlie Watts? Who the hell are they? Dead guys, that's who! And none of them could hold a candle to Frank Devito!
OLEEEE!
I always thought Frank had a son named Liberty (Billy Joel's drummer). Who knew his cousin was the boss on Taxi.
I thought these songs were from Herb Alpert
Very Spike Jones-esque schtick.
...could that be Liberty's dad !?!
funny
