@@JonsCreditAndTravel I first found out about Tosin when I saw him during the 2016 Generation Axe tour at The Bomb Factory in Dallas. I was just as blown away as you. Did the VIP thing so I got to meet everyone. I even have everyone's autograph on the poster. Actually, I have two of them! Mine and my wife's. Perhaps I'll sell one some day.

Here we can easily see the contrast between Yngwie and Tosin.
Tosin: obscurely shaped 8 string guitar, fanfrets, Fishman active humbuckers, split positions, constantly switching from clean to drive, Morgan clean head with small cab, distortion from pedals, backing tracks, thumping and multiple finger tapping, doesn't move too much, basically transcending you to space.
Yngwie: 40 year old Strats, giant wall of cranked Marshalls. Guitar spin after every diminished arpeggio and there's a lot of them. Basically transcending you to 18th century Austria

Ynqwie and Vai on Blackstar is just supernatural. Both totally unique guitarists with completely different styles. Both obvious trail blazers. its just the greatest. I wish Yngwie would be a tad more discipline in the unison parts. But whatever.

That’s said, Vai and Yngwie harmonizing “Black Star” was absolutely epic.

It's hard to compare what Tosin Abasi is doing. It sounds like Pink Floyd doing nu metal. I seriously haven't heard anything like it. Like Jimi Hendrix before him, he's bringing music into new territory.

Guess you have to be from Jersey to understand him. He sounds the same to me as he did 25 years ago when hanging in the same circle of people and seeeing him play many dive clubs that Jersey had then. Those days made some amazing memories for me.
