I feel so bad for those who don't know about the existence of this live version of the song. Hope they'll perform it again during future shows, as it is also one of Matt's favourites to play.
I've always felt like there albums go a bit like this: WPSIATWIN: The rowdiest of the bunch, a concept album of UK nights out. Favorite Worst Nightmare: Like WPSIA, but more serious, aggressive and fucking sinister at times (If You Were There, Beware's carnival breakdown part). Humbug: A journey in all sense's of the word. A journey for the band, a journey for the music, a journey through a desert in Sheffield. Perfection. SIAS: A mix of the 3, but with a laid back pop scene to it.
For me, this is already classic footage of this band. Lyrically this tune is beyond anything you find these days and musically...well the suspense is just fucking stunning.
how can you compare the albums of the monkeys ? i mean every album sound different and thats what i mostly like about AM. whatever people... has cool party songs and their lyrics are funny and ironic. favourite worst nightmare is like whatever people... but the songs were made more difficult and dont sound the same all the time. humbug is a dark album. great mix of the monkeys style and psychadelic rock. suck it and see is actually a mix of all their albums. but it has pop songs like the hellcat
Suck it and see was almost as if they didnt try, the amount of effort in the first three albums is much greater than the effort in suck it and see im not saying it was bad album it just wasnt them and yeah they had some good b-sides but wpsiatwin is brilliant in how they had the songs lined up to the flow of the lyrics and the tempo
They don't play live this song anymore- and it's a crime.
I will call the police
