I can’t believe you didn’t have a spare esc 😮 I bought half a dozen a year or so ago when they were really cheap and still have four left, I gave one to my grocery delivery driver for his daughters lunchbox and he was so happy to get it going again, nice video Steve 😊

the 1060 is my go-to ESC. I wish we has a great ESC like this back in the day for as cheap as these are! Most of them back then were $60 and up!!

Nice job Steve. I've had to make a list of which RC's are on my 3 Flysky transmitters because I can never remember. I keep it on my computer and when I want to run an RC I check it to find the one I need to use. I've also had to make lists for where I actually keep all my transmitters, and my RC's. I have so many now I store them wherever I can find space, and the older I get I find it harder to remember where they all are. Especially if I haven't used one for a while! This caused much panic before I made these lists 😂

HW 1060 at 20 bucks is a great value for these old buggies. I run one in my Hornet and it actually extracts more power out of the sport tuned motor than the tamiya tble-02. No restrictions on motors compared to the tamiya also. You could run a 13.5T on it if you wish.

Yeah I had the tamiya esc's but I don't like them nothing beats a 1060! Thanks for looking.

Good work Steve 👍👍 and it a great car no matter what , even compared to newer cars nowadays the Hornet is still a legendary car. It cements a place in history when kit cars were King on the race track and ready to run cars were basically toys. Nowadays though it is reversed and ready to run cars are very high performing but they still lack soul. I think it's like basically taking a car or truck out of the box and charging a battery then driving it. Kind of soul less to me. Even though I own a couple of Kyosho Fazer Chevy Camaro Z28.i still really enjoy putting together a Tamiya kit. I just brought a Tamiya Fox and built it 2 days ago. Only 2 issues with it. 1, the number sequence on the decal sheet is confused and I had to make mistakes to apply the decals taking off decals only to place them correctly and the tyres and wheels are an issue as is the rear drive shafts and the motor wires. I'm trying to find replacements for the rear wheels and tires because I want them preserved and staying brand new. I tried 2 different set from Louise , the phantom tyres and Spider tyres and they don't work because they rub the rear suspension arms. The rear drive shafts seem to have too much play , like they can be wiggled back and forth laterally by around 1.5 mm . Feels sloppy. And I put a faster motor in but the motor wires are too short and needed to be lengthened to reach.all in all though the fox has come out beautiful absolutely spectacular. Do you have any Fox builds and videos? I'd be very interested to see . Great work again Steve 👍👍

I agree the hornets a beauty and has been for so long that's why they still make them today! As for your fox I only put a original one together for a friend when I was like 15 years old, For decals you can use like windex spray the body or back of the decal and it wont stick to the body and you can move it around a bit and then wipe the windex off with a paper towel, or cut out decals and just cut a small section of the backing off on the end of the decal so you can slightly stick the small sticky end section in place and push down the decal and adjust it so it lays in the correct position and when it does leave the end stuck on the body and peal back the backing and the decal should go in place perfect the way you lined it up. drive shafts lose if it uses dog bones you can space them and take slack out by use a rubber O ring in the drive cup end then put the dog bone in... can also cut some nitro rc fuel line to size and do it also. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching.
