How do you create an achingly beautiful, picture-perfect wedding in Italy? Take one gorgeous couple, a handful of friends and family, a stunning Italian villa, and sprinkle liberally with autumnal Tuscan sunshine.
The perfect ingredients came together to make Kelly and Jared’s amazing four-day celebration in Tuscany. The wedding started with a cosy welcome cocktail party, followed by a rehearsal dinner in historic Siena. For their wedding day, the couple chose the enchanting setting of Villa Cetinale, a magical 17th century Baroque villa surrounded by an exquisite garden - described as one of the most beautiful in Italy - filled with rambling roses and wisteria-covered walkways.
The wedding theme was inspired by the couple’s love of Dutch Golden Age still-life paintings with rich, exuberant displays of flowers, foliage, and fruit. Wanting to infuse their day with the same look and feel, they chose a luxurious colour palette of shades of soft peach, pale blue, deep red and a flash of golden yellow.
Kelly wore a beautiful v neck wedding dress from Tulle New York with custom beaded applique, her hair styled in soft romantic curls. She paired her gown with a handmade full-length veil and beautiful ribbon-tied bouquet of voluminous blush and white roses. Bridesmaids looked gorgeous in long, pale blue satin gowns, while tiny flower girls looked adorable in white dresses and rose flower crowns.
The ceremony was held in the villa’s gardens with the couple exchanging hand-written vows in front of an idyllic tree-lined path. Friends and family cheered and tossed rose petals as the newlyweds passed back down the aisle.
The first few moments as man and wife are often full of emotion, and while guests enjoyed Aperitivo hour, the couple took time to have their photos taken. The villa’s surroundings - from its terracotta stone walls to sun-lit olive groves - were the ideal backdrop for these poignant, heart-felt first pictures.
Making the most of the natural scenery, the couple’s wedding meal was held outdoors under a white sailcloth tent surrounded by fairy lights. Tablescape details were to die for with bowl upon bowl of peach and blue blooms, tall gold candleholders and hand-illustrated floral menus.
After a medley of mouth-watering Italian dishes, chefs prepared a traditional, heart-shaped Italian wedding cake in front of the wedding parties’ eyes. The couple’s day closed with a magnificent party in the villa’s main hall with the newlyweds hoisted high on chairs for some seriously energetic horah dancing. Mazel tov!
