Andrea Horwath (the leader of the opposition) keeps in check the governmental system for what a massive number of Ontarians that, in fact, did not vote for Doug Ford. The position of the leader of the opposition is there to remind the house of what the people who did not vote in the Premiere. The more seats the the opposition has, the more voice and more power they should hold. It would be the same if Andrea Horwath won and Doug Ford was the leader of the opposition. The winning party should never have 100% of the power as that is not how democracy works nor how it should ever work.

There was consultation, which I believe was lengthy, to determine ward boundaries and the number of wards. So there's the decision, for where to draw the lines, and how many wards are needed. But also, there's the issue when changing the number of wards. It's a really big process changing election boundaries. There are many rules of follow. For example the boundaries need to have equal representation. They have to give notice to residence. They have to prepare the ballots, dates, locations ect. So it's a lengthy and expensive process, according to councillors to change the wards. So when they were doing the study, it didn't make sense to determine the best boundaries that day, because they would be implemented in 2019. So it instead of drawing up boundaries for 2019, then having to do the whole process over for 2022. They made the boundaries for 2022, so they don't have to do the process all over again.

I'm from Alberta and wish we had a Doug Ford as our Premier. Good man and for the people...can't wait for our elections...NDP will be gone here and next up is TRUDOPE....Thank God for Canada!!!!
