I often think that if a parole board had to take these offenders into their OWN homes upon their release, they would have a MUCH different opinion about just how rehabilitated they truly are.

They are the same creatures... that's why they release them to begin with. Have you ever wondered why small drug dealers get longer than pedophiles? Ppl don't change especially those psychopaths they actually get worse in prison
It's not a rocket science criminals do get worse in prison by surrounded by other criminals
Of course there r ppl who get rehabilitated
But that very small percentage of them n yet ppl preach rehabilitation of criminals in prison as if it would occur on 99 percent chance

Emma! I just adore you and the way you cover these tragic cases.
The sidebars regarding your wishes for these sadistic pieces of garbage to suffer are hilarious 😂 I share your sentiments and love that you express them...
As for the broken 'justice' system...I have NO understanding.
It seems so incredibly backwards and warped.
I was in prison for 10 yrs on a 20 yr sentence for a car accident that happened in 2009.
Thankfully, no one passed away, however, I was sentenced to 30 yrs to serve 20 in prison.
I came up for parole in 2016 and was denied due to the victims not forgiving me.
I finally had to hire an amazing parole attorney and she was able to have 3 members of the parole board come interview me in prison.
They determined that my sentence was grossly out of proportion for the charges. I was eventually released in 2019.
My point is that I watched numerous inmates convicted of heinous crimes continuously being released.
It baffled me and several of them were back in prison within 1 to 2 yrs.
It infuriates me when I see these disgusting creatures being given another chance.
They call it the' Department of Corrections', however, many of us referred to it as ' Department of Corruption' simply due to the fact that there is no rehabilitation in the majority of the US prison system.
    Anyway....sorry to rant..
Keep up the good work! ❤

Thank goodness for the men helping Linda! I have taught my kids that you just can't ignore emergencies like that and you cannot assume that someone else will help. I had the opportunity to show my son by breaking up a fight at the bus station when there was a veritable arena of people (at least 50) circled around just gawking at the spectacle. As soon as I saw what was happening, I was angry with all those people spectating, put my backpack down and got between the 2 guys and stopped them. My son thought I was nuts as I was 57 with a back disability at the time, and these guys were in there early 20s. I'm glad I was able to do that and show my son through my actions not just with words.

This is sad but, as someone who has worked with some problematic kids, I would never approach teenagers, outwith of a work setting where I may Have to, nor advise anyone to approach a teenager, in a quiet location, with nobody else around, to voice disapproval over something they are doing. Ok if they are hurting someone or something but, I would say that it's safer not to approach them and to call the proper authorities if they are doing something like setting fires or other things that could result in people or animals being hurt. I really think it was unwise to do what this woman did. Police in London said that up to one in three young boys carry bladed weapons, so that is something else to take into account.

I live and teach in Dundee. Dundee isn't a "wild" place as you so nicely put it. Therefore these crimes absolutely shocked the community to the core. Sure, no city is without its problems and drug use is a major one for us but these crimes had nothing to do with that. McIntosh is evil through and through - nothing to do with him being a Dundonian.

Almost every week there's been a stabbing or someone has been mugged or jumped. Was not that long ago a mother & daughter was found under someone's floorboards!! Don't get me wrong it's a beautiful place and the people are lovely but it has a very dark side and it's a place that I certainly do not feel comfortable walking around on my own

This got to me, especially when you were explaining how Linda was unable to work, how it was stolen from her, whilst mine weren't under brutal circumstances like hers, but due to illegal practices in a job I was in just over 5 years ago, and due to not being taken seriously for so long, my spinal injury has slowly gotten worse, to the point I cannot work and suffer chronic pain, now my left hip has started going, causing further chronic pain, I miss working, I want my quality of life back, so I feel her anguish on thst front.
