      @@laiyaukee5849 Hello I am an older lady in the US State of Oregon. I watched your video Micheal put on you tube. I onky saw it a few yrs ago, about every 2 or 3 months I watch. So intetesting. I asked Micheal if he ever hears from you. And the video of another boy 10 or 11 in 1980 on his families boat. Your all were so clean and helped each other. Thank you. God Bless❤ I worked in 1988 for a nice Chinese couple in their Restarant in Madera Calif. 1988 to July 1989. Then 11 yrs for another owner. That was The China Palace. The first owner was Kin Bor Lee from San Francisco Cal. His wife Helen and he took me to their home for 2 days on a holiday in Feb 1989. Cheers🌍🙋❤

    Anyways don't worry too much - Hong Kong is a multi-lingual/multi-cultural city, has a unique landscape, unique history, feisty citizens, it won't be assimilated it will remain unique. No worries...

    Dear, dear, thanks for safed images. Hopefully the fishermen's lifestyles are being preserved. They know more than anyone the 'Feng Shui' of the bays of Hong Kong than anyone. Seeking new opportunities in North America means to learn about the 'Feng Shui' of America accordingly. Banks and officials of Hong Kong must provide also helping hands to the natives and Hong Kongers to maintain Hong Kong's lifestyles besides intercontinental brandings. Be faithful, be happy be healthy, kind regards, take care,

    No, but I visit HK often enough to know how it has changed. HK has evolved and is different city from the 60s/70s. I have noticed an alarming amount of prejudice against Mainland Chinese. Some of the mannerisms and etiquette of mainlanders are offensive, but it does not warrant the virulent response some HKers display. HKers should hold themselves to a higher standard than their mainland counterparts, so it is truly sad that notions of equality, respect, courtesy are being disregarded.

      Today it strongly proves that that prejudice presented for a reason. God bless freedom loving HongKongers, especially the youngsters!

    • @michaelijsbrand
      @michaelijsbrand  9 лет назад

      Yes, they still use sampans junks and rowing boats. Only the junks are mostly motorized. They do not load the seaships that much anymore after introduction of containers for cargo transport in the sixties.

    I must survive the English language to prevent all mainlanders a strong brainwashing in every minute and every second! Otherwise, nobody would survive yourself in the world when all hong kongers always keep disappointing to all mainlanders and rather become a british citizens to maintain their civilisations. However, why on earth all hong kong young teenagers always fear for the english language when i did experience my own skills to facing somebody who come to this entire city? Yeah, maybe my poor grammatical was misleading to all english reader but i do believe that if i choose to living at australia, america, canada or England. I am definitely sure nobody would attempt to brainwashed my wonderful spirit and my womderful soul! People who were living anger, disrespectful, fearsome, unfair treating and also no democracy in the whole entire Hong Kong. How can i suppose to believe that they’re living peaceful and they dare to called the multi-cultural city? English people always keep inspiring anyone to embrace the power of the most representative language around the worldwide. all wonderful culture would be destroy by the chinese policy and the mainlanders unruly behaviour as soon as possible! Therefore, i do trust all western culture can embrace everyone to calm down to be in peace without complaining everything is truely disgrace to chinese culture! I am not really mean i am a racist or a traitor. But do hope all mainlanders and the communism must take down immediately before all human goes crazy. Otherwise, the entire civilisation and the human spirit would have no hope for the bright future! I don’t want to be deserve like this!

    yes thats true but according to the failure of democratic development , Strengthening nationalism , Hong Kong is losing her identity . long time ago , people familiarly think that they are not the same color with mainland Chinese but now , many mainlanders come and stay in Hong Kong ( NT North) , and they make a big impact for Hong Kong's own tradition culture . In my opinion , Hong Kong will become a normal Chinese city very soon...may be just ten more years.... what a shame
