Thanks Martin
Thanks Martin. I change my cable every year no matter what. I always carry a spare, which may also help someone out. I really enjoy your down to earth no nonsense vids. Keep up the good work. Thanks
Mike
Hi Mike, thanks for your comments and kind words. Never thought about keeping a spare cable, will be getting one now though, top tip. Cheers Martin 👍
Thanks Martin Now you have shown us all how to change the cable lets hope there are no incidents this year with caravans. Thanks Phil.
Thanks for sharing. I never realised how easy to replace it is. Cheers, Helen & Dave
Was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be! cheers Martin 👍
Wow, that is an easy (and inexpensive) job! Thanks for sharing with everyone :)
It was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be. Looking back I should have cleaned all the muck off!! 👍
The Caravan Nut True, but it would just get mucky again!
thanks for this video, i've got the same crimp fitted to mine and i've been dreading trying to take it off as everyone keeps telling me to use an angle grinder but being on a storage site i cant, it's so thick i was thinking i'm never going to be able to cut right through it, but after watching your video i think i can at least get half way through which will weaken it enough to bend it. Thanks again for all of your very helpful videoes :D
That’s what I did, cut through slightly to weaken it. The carabiner type are much easier to fit. Thanks for comments and watching, Martin
Thanks for sharing. I wish I knew they were available with the karibina on when I changed mine. I bought one from Alko with the original crimp fitting. Pretty tough to close the loop, just about managed it. Cheers, Jeff
I bet that was a tough job! 👍
Many thanks I've just fitted a new break away cable
Hi Steve, glad the vid was of help. Thanks for watching 👍

The old cable was an AL-KO cable and you replaced it with a cheap one, is it holding up ok?
