I love this song, a heart felt tribute to to their mothers; I would be lost without my mommy;I can say that with no shame,my mother made me,and I am eternally grateful! Class tune, great group.
I sing this song to my wife and mother all the time, and I'm a Teacher For The Deaf, and I've have taught my class this song as well....And, I requested it to be played at my funeral. It is one of the 3 most important songs to my heart and soul forever. Thank you Oak Ridge Boys....
Can I ask which smile and mustache it is that you are talking about since you don't name any names here? God bless you always!!! Holly in East Tennessee P.S. If only I had officially discovered the leader of the song before his suicide, I love him SO much!!!
I lost my wonderful mother June 25th 2013. I am so happy she was the one who told me to listen to this song when it first come out. I was a little boy then. And now it is my favorite Oak Ridge Boys No Matter How high I get
God truly Blessed these men and has seen them thru, and the Lord certainly blessed and touched this music to uplift those that need it. 1 of my absolute favorite Quartets
I really don't mean to bust your bubble here, but you do know that the lead singer in this video isn't here anymore, right? (burying my head) God bless you and those who have loved him longer than me always!!! Holly in East Tennessee (forever wishing that I had discovered him before his suicide)
I lost my Mother May 3rd 2021. She was two weeks shy of ninety five years old. After four children and seventeen presidents her heart stopped. Live well Margaret B....you have accomplished your goal.
(???) I don't mean to be rude but are you saying that those who are bad are there too? Because if they are there too, why does hell exist? (???) God bless you always!!! Holly in East Tennessee
Can you believe that it has been 20 years now since his going forward, if only I had discovered him sooner, I love him SO much!!! (burying my head) God bless you and his family always!!! Holly in East Tennessee
This song is most appropriate song for moms day!! Mom and I watched this video when it was on CMT back in 88!! She sure enjoyed it then, as much as she did today when I played it for her!! What a great song!
Great to see this Video! It's sad that we lost Steve but it's great we still have his music to rember him. I als like the way they use there moms in this video. Thanks!
Great song! I love the way they show the kids coming home to mom. Seems like kids don't respect their moms like they used to do in the old days. Love your moms now, for there is no area code to heaven. RIP Mom.
Can you believe that its been 20 years now since Steve went forward, if only I had discovered him sooner, I love him SO much!!! (burying my head) God bless you and his family always!!! Holly in East Tennessee
This was always a song i listened to as a very young kid, like 3 years old, and it just takes me back now. Damn this brings back a lot of memories... First time ive listened to it in like 15 years.
An amazing group: Steve on lead is amazing and a nice change; Duane is a fine lead as well; Joe on high harmony and Richard on low harmony; amazing stuff. It would be interesting to hear Bill added in here too on harmony.
Can you believe that its been 20 years now since Steve went forward, if only I had discovered the late beautiful precious sooner, I love him SO much!!! (burying my head) God bless you and his family always!!! Holly in East Tennessee
He indeed is awesome!!! His name is Richard Sterban and he also was with JD Sumner and the Stamps Quartet. JD and his group having a long association with Elvis during his touring years of 1970-77. Sterban sang on many of Elvis' later Gospel songs.
Great video with clips of their home towns. I went to Junior High School with Joe Bonsal and the scenes of his Kensington neighborhood in Philadelphia and his mother brought back a lot of memories.
ACC's #7 song of the '90 survey year. The Oaks hit #1 in Billboard, 3-3-90. God bless y'all, Oaks! Thanx, Kyle, for postin' it. Have a blessed New Year!
Long time Oaks fan, and what I really like about this song is Richard's bass line in this one. It really adds something to this particular song. I think I started listening to these guys as a kid about 1980 or 81.
This is a great video to watch on this special Mother's day. I have three great sons who always spend Mother's day with me. Michael34 Ronnie 31 and Shane 28
Really? Every time that I hear an ORB song played in my area, it is always from before Steve was ever one of the singers and for the record, I've written to every station asking that his material be played as much as possible. So far I have not heard one song and I have not gotten one response from any of the stations that I have written to. Well if they have no desire to make room for Steve's musical presence.......they can bite me. God bless you and those who love him always!!! Holly in East Tennessee
Can you believe that its been 20 years now since his going forward, if only I had discovered the beautiful precious sooner, I love Steve SO much!!! (burying my head) God bless you and his family always!!! Holly in East Tennessee
