  • According to the New Hampshire State Parks Website, Dry River Campground is open Year Round. It turns out, it isn't, so I made a late arrival to Hancock Campground. Later I explore the remains of Pine Island Trail in Lincoln Woods.

Hey Wolf, I was camped there at the same time! I was just a couple of sites away in a little teardrop trailer. Wish I had had the chance to meet you in person and thank you for your videos. Happy camping!

I think your teardrop showed up on my following video as I was driving out. You should have stopped by and said hi. Thanks for watching!

Like you, I feel at home at that campground. Have used it several times in my hiking years and dragged a small camper up there a couple of times too. We left the Jeep at Lincoln Woods when we overnighted in the Pemigewasset Wilderness. Sorry the Dry River plan fell through but you still got to camp without rain.

Things don't always go as planned, but I still got to get out. I didn't have to go all the way back home. I'm glad I have Hancock as a resource, it's one of my favorite places in the off season.

I absolutely love New Hampshire. It is a gorgeous state. I haven't been there in way too many years. When my kids were young, we used to camp in NH every year and we loved it! Definitely have to get back there next year. Sorry your plans fell through, but at least you still got out there to camp. Loved the trails, just beautiful. Thank you for taking us along. Safe travels Wolf. 👍😁

@marilynrenaud1892 Never been in the New England Area. I have been to Washington D.C. and Baltimore but no further. I've traveled southward! Yes sometimes when one set of plans fail it opens the door for better plans!!! 😇❤Blessings❤😇 Happy Holiday Season. I do say Merry Christmas but it's a bit early!!☺️

I believe Dry River is open year round for primitive camping. A couple cars can park in front of the closed gate, or you can hike in from nearby. I've only camped there in summer, but I've walked through in winter, and I've seen one or two sites occupied.

I hope you make it back there next year, it's one of my favorite places.
