6:00 You got it Kirk. Toyota is very secretive. They are old school Japanese, in that they hold their cards very close to their vest. They make plays usually when they know they can win which make them look boring on the whole but in that they have and can produce real world winning products. And I agree they are doing a lot behind the scene they are not being vocal about for good reason. I think to much companies blab about this that and the other simply for stock value. Toyota being very old and beyond that its not a play they do.
This is not bad but no matter how better you get battery technology batteries do give off their own form emissions there's just no physical way of getting away from that , plus all car and truck manufacturers need to invest in more hybrid technology as well !!!!
@@chezzyperson3339 Hybrids are so bad, if you compare them with other propulsions from well to wheel you need to zoom in on the infographic to see the difference. To me it's always so weird how the US is a gasoline only market and not predominantly Diesel. Diesel ist great for heavy vehicles and for driving great distances, all things that Americans do much more than Europeans, yet in America there are horrific gas guzzlers like all (Toyota) trucks and SUVs.
The Desoto plant is under construction already and is scheduled to begin production in March 2025. Don't forget, there are Ford and GM assembly plants in the KC metro area. I live about 8 miles away from the Desoto site so been following it's progress.
Thanks for the focus on Toyota's US operations. It is interesting that Toyota's 10 US factories produce the _same number of vehicles_ as Tesla's Giga Austin factory is designed to produce, providing unheard of economies of scale and margins. 👀
I live in the Kansas city area. Been through DeSotoa nice small town. Besides Lawrence there's also Leavenworth where Fort Leavenworth is. My question is of these 4000 workers how many will be American and how many will be foreign workers?
Toyota would be advancing and accelerating their EV ambitions upon the availability of solid state batteries. The current battery technology is going to be history soon.
I love playing strategy games and there are simply none that have to do with owning and operating a car company. Ok there is one but its a bit much. Im talking like a Railroad Tycoon game Automotive washed. I don't know why I'm saying this none of you are developers. Ill sit down.
⚠️⚠️ MAJOR ISSUE! NEED MORE COAL BURNING PLANTS TO CHARGE THESE BATTERIES. MORE POLLUTION.. SOLAR, WIND WON'T BE NEAR ENOUGH. LANDFILLS OF OLD BATTERIES.

I like Toyota, but Japanese being very secretive is not necessarily a good thing. We found that out in December 1941.

Thanks for the report. Good to see Toyota having 3 different battery suppliers and the central location of the battery plant in the USA.

Hybrid's in trucks are futile. Look at the F-150 and Tundra, they don't really improve fuel economy.
The battery are made out of metals, that can be recycled ♻️. You cannot recycle burnt fuels 🤷♂️

isn't this the factory that needed coal plant to get running?

What’s average salary in battery plant for Toyota in North Carolina and the desoto Kansas facility mainly
What part of Kansas
You know I wonder what would happen if Toyota should purchase majority shares in Panasonic
They don't need to. They're working with three of the top 4 battery makers so they can best implement new technology and keep costs down
I thought Toyota was commited to LFP batteries........Please talk more about this............Paul
CATL is currently building a Battery Plant in Germany.

Thought I heard about it being in solid state batteries which would mean for Toyota not Tesla.
Any other car manufacturer in Kansas?
Gm and Ford, but they have NO relations with Panasonic and are working with LG and SK for their supplies.
Panasonic is going to get graphite from Nouveau Monde Graphite :)
The entire plant in Kansas will be powered by Solar and Wind. Right?
Kansas is very windy haha
DeSoto!

It would be great if Toyota would stop building fugly _compliance EVs_ and kick some ass with great visual and technological designs.
What happened to the taxpayers funded Nissan TN $2.3 billion battery 🔋 plant ?
Fraud WHY NO POWER PLANTS ?
