However it is still possible to find it in old worlds with a different texture, but you cannot ever place or hold one ever again. Enchantments where added in beta 1.8 and the quiver was originally added on the Indev development era, There the survival and crafting system was recently added and tested also the stack system was being implemented. And I think bows didn't exist yet, but I'm not sure.
Fun Fact: these were supposed to have uses (at least for the first 2), for example, crying obsidian were suppose to work like beds and the end portal (fun fact inside a fun fact: the end was replaced with the sky dimension (at least that’s what i think it’s called))

1. Cogs replaced redstone, and always were rotating, if you broke one, the cogs would still rotate. 2. Crying obsidian was actually a way to "sleep", It would set your spawn point. If you did research, you would know. You're still cool though!
I really think they should re-add cogs because you can’t transmit redstone vertically now. Resurrecting the cog would also allow for functional cars and rockets with hidden engines to be made.
