if you dont show the negative parts of Blackpool they wont improve they will just get worse and your a Blackpool lad who loves his home town and wants the best for the place .

Hi. Good on you. What do people expect. We have been called the Vegas of the North. I've been there and there are some very fruity areas there that you never see. Not all about the Strip. I feel safe everywhere in Blackpool. Lived off Central Drive for 17 years on Rydal Ave. Never had a problem. I walk everywhere. Now up off Whitegate so gone a bit posh.....ha ha. Anyway keep it up. He's probably a local councillor, ashamed at the deprivation, which us locals know as South Shore.
When macmaster and Stephen posted, they spoke to a Councillor who's trying his best to change things. Everywhere have bad place's

I dont think South Shore is too bad, it’s Central Drive and Dickson Rd areas that are deprived

We think you show Blackpool as it is. We have been coming to Blackpool from Glasgow for 18 years. we have said exactly the same as you. Most of these people who put Blackpool down haven't even been. Every town has its good and bad and its good to show warts and all. Thank you for all your vlogs, Stephen. Yes, we do wish we were in Blackpool just now, but we will be down soon enough (July & Nov). Your videos are great Stephen! They are a very good advert for Blackpool and allow people who could not get to the town to share the experience with you. Every city or town has its bad bad areas too. I live in Brighton which is fantastic, but there are still bits of it that aren’t fantastic as well. Keep up the great work Stephen 😊

Being B/pool born n bred myself, I can say your channel is Super. Every town has its dark sides ,folk would moan if you ignored the aspect.
I heard a foreign chap filmed Bpool n some lady saw her hubby on vid with another woman, now you go out your way not to film folks I notice.
Also my mother now in her late 80s with Alzheimer's, When she watches a twinkle appears in her eyes n I think it jogs her brain into reality..nearly.
Keep doing what you do Stephen, it is YOUR channel after all, you know what is best for it. Thankyou for your hard work, it is appreciated by 99.9 % of us, We do not call Stephen Mr Blackpool for nothing !!!

That's my local beach. I love living in Blackpool South. Just a short walk down Squires Gate and and straight on to the beach. It's a locals beach in as much as tourist don't come down this far. Its our open secret.
Stephen Hello...Liverpool Kev here again...As you can tell from the title I have nothing to do with Blackpool...Born and bred in Liverpool...after 20 years in London)...now living in Southport that can mirror Blackpool's issues on a smaller scale...Ironically i nearly posted this comment 'a few videos ago'...I wanted to say to you how heartwarming it was to share how genuinely proud you are of your hometown...I joked a while back...I could be watching Mauritius instead of Blackpool....but find you utterly compelling...because of the skilled 'storytelling' aspect of your videos...in a previous life before illness I was a speaker on cruise ships...and 'trust me' I learned what attracted audiences and what didn't !...You have that quality Stephen...You should be proud of your passion for Blackpool....and ever improving presentation skills too...As ever....Liverpool Kev

To be honest I haven't been to Blackpool for years used to visit all the time as kids but watching your videos has made me want to come back as soon as I can, you have to show the negatives as well as the positives because that's life and doesn't matter where you go there's good and bad areas. Keep doing what you do best because we're loving it.

We love all your videos. It's good to see a variety. We've been watching since Lockdown. Your videos got my son through Covid. Blackpool is his happy place, and he was really depressed that he couldn't go to his happy place. We would watch your videos as a family, and it made us happy to see Gabriel happy it's not easy for a child with Autism when their routine is out of. So sync. We owe this channel a lot of gratitude. Cracks me up. Everybody threw pelters at Stephen when he used harmless Clickbait about leaving Blackpool.. Bloke can't do right for doing wrong. He's wasted in Blackpool the Gloucester Vlog was brillant. More of that and less bloody Blackpool. It's been done too death..

Seaside towns all have their own challenges. What you’re showing is honest, and if that raises awareness all to the good.
Keep doing what you do Stephen. Your videos are an important documentation of Blackpool as a whole, much of which little is recorded or has ever been recorded in writing, photographs or audio visual. You are creating a valuable record of social history.

I stay at b and b up at South shore and that's what you always do, which I love, you just love the sea, sunset and the atmosphere of the whole beach. As I said last time I love just sitting on the stairs listening and watching the sea.
Don’t take any notice of those stupid comments. You do a brilliant job showing the beautiful beech and sea with all the other aspects of Blackpool. Life is not all roses after all and nowhere is perfect.
So don’t change.

You've done over a thousand videos, I've seen them all, varied and very informative. You're an essential part of Blackpool, all the decent folks no that Stephen, your a legend mate. Telling you, after your gone there will be a statue of your good self, or at least a spot on the comedy carpet for that time you fell over that concrete block. Don't stop man 👌

My grandparents lived in St Anne's on Sea. We spent all summer holidays there going to Blackpool catching the old green and cream trams at Starr Gate to Pleasure Beach,seeing the shows at the end of all the piers and the Winter Gardens. That was the late 60s to mid 80s. Sadly it definitely is not the same place now.
All You Tubers get some degree of criticism, sometimes unjustified. You cant please everyone with your content. Its good to have a selections of viewpoints from those who watch. You seem to take it personally, whereas it happens every channel I watch, including my own.
You produce informative and interesting videos for everyone to enjoy. Viewers love them. You will always get people saying things that rattle you, but thats life, not just on YT.

I prefer your honest approach, Blackpool does have serious issues, but still has a lot to offer. My nan had family here, I've always loved it, I can remember when it was still lovely.

Stephen, I think you show a balanced view of Blackpool. Every town has it’s places that are perhaps not as nice as others and not necessarily worth not visiting a town and missing out on the positives of a town.
Genuinely the busy commercialised parts of Blackpool are attractive to me personally but you have shown me things that have attracted me and indeed I visited last Autumn and booked a ride on the Fish n Chip tram ride because you had shown this.

Your videos are always fun and very entertaining. Steve, I’ve been to the UK several times but never to Blackpool but I feel that I have a sense of the town because of your Wild Side videos. Keep up the good work and remember this regarding trolls, never complain and never explain because all they want in their drab little lives is a bit of attention.
We stayed in Blackpool 30 odd years ago in the Claremont hotel and really enjoyed our time there in Blackpool. Obviously you love your home town and us subscribers love your vids, keep them coming👍👍🏴
I think your videos are great. Blackpool has been through a bad patch but with lots of new developments Blackpool will soon bounce back. You have so many superb things Winter Gardens, Grand Theatre, The Tower Thanks Stephen for all your videos.
The truth is a large part of Blackpool is extremely deprived. What’s the point of just putting the good stuff up, Stephen has always put a very balanced view of the town. Well done that man.

I think the closing of so many hotels on South Shore contributes to it's quietness. Years ago, we used to occasionally stop at the Highgrove Hotel on Napier Avenue until it was converted into an old peoples home.
I think it's right that you show that Blackpool's not all a bed of roses, because concentrating purely on the (many) positives would gove more sway to those are out to slag the town off, as they won't fail to point out the bad sides!
You cover every part of Blackpool the good bad and the ugly. Keep up the great videos always look forward to the next 1. 👍🏻

To be fair. Central drive has seen better days. Just needs more development. Every town/ city has it's good and bad areas. It's just how things are.
It was a bustling area before Central Station closed.
I love the honesty you bring to your channel and the videos you do. We also get the stupid comments just like what you get, but with us, the clue is in our name, and we still get people saying our stories are morbid and dark 😅
I've been a subscriber for some time and would like to add my positive comments to this discussion. As a Mancunian, I enjoy visiting Blackpool for various reasons and think you present a realistic and, overall favourable picture of the town. There are aspects of Blackpool that need improving and you don't shy away from showing these. This is an indicator of good journalism. Equally you show us the positives and the things that are happening that encourage visitors. I'm always impressed by the way your videos recognise and emphasise the positives. I'm looking forward to next year's calendar too. I wonder if people know about your photography site.

I have workmates who love watching your videos, like myself, as they often say you come across as an “honest and genuine bloke” and I think folk would agree that it most certainly comes across in your videos. It’s easy to be negative, like the news, and focus on just the bad bits, but honestly I think one of the main reasons you have so may subscribers and viewings is simply because you report both sides and people appreciate that especially if it’s reported honestly and genuinely, of which yours are. I’m still waiting for you to produce a boring and uninteresting video, somehow I think I’ll be waiting a long time 😂

Well Stephen I can honestly say your videos are very balanced. It is people like you who got some of us through those lockdowns and that is a POSITIVE. I really liked the one of the remains of the ship which unless you live there you wouldn't see. Just say it as it is and that's that. I love the sea, the starlings, the sunsets, the promenade, the skies etc. So carry on as you do because it is your vision of your town. 👍🙏🏼❤️

I've lived in the Blackpool area all my life too. I'm sure all areas in the UK have good and bad. Blackpool is on the up, your channel is always entertaining, aswell it's promotional for the town.
Hi Steve. I am a big fan of the channel and watch all of your videos. You do not have to justify to anyone the content that you put out at all. I honestly believe that you are a fantastic ambassador for Blackpool and actively encourage people to visit Blackpool. It doesn't matter what you do in life, somebody will always try to knock you. All you need to do is look at all of the postive messages below, and literally just ignore any negative messages. You have to show a balanced view of your Town, that is the only fair way to show things. We would all love to show just the nice parts of Town, but sadly life doesn't work like that. If I did videos of where I live (Grimsby), I would be hard stretched to show anything decent at all !!!! Keep up the great videos, you do a great job for Blackpool.
Its good that you do show the warts and all of Blackpool every town has them I've not been for over 20 years and its interesting to see how the place has changed.
We really enjoy your videos. Its best to see both sides of any resort. Showing the downsides highlights the areas the council can improve.
Your videos don't come across as negative, more a form of constructive identification.
Anyway, we love your videos & will hopefully bump into you on one of our visits to Blackpool.
