    Every one of the OST's in the original trilogy are amazing in their own right. Each one is very different but unique. Rayman 2 especially has all these samples from this great sample library CD called "Distorted Reality 2: Darkness and Light". The samples from that CD can be heard in many other games from that era, for example the Spyro games.

    • @Saxdude26
      @Saxdude26  Год назад +1

      Right, I keep hearing samples in Spyro 2 that I can also recognise in Rayman M and 3

    Good god I love this fucking game, it's so insanely dark! I don't know why games are so afraid to be this atmospheric these days, Rayman 2 really felt like a fantasyland taken seriously where anything could happen in the worst way and I LOVE IT. I love how every single track of these battle thenes, while they get somewhat more upbeat they also get even more oppressive, like Rayman is trying but they keep gaining more power

    • @monkeyman767
      @monkeyman767 3 месяца назад +1

      Agreed, R2 had a tone that even 3 lacked. Hopelessness (at least at the start), and the music plays into that perfectly, you hear the music getting both rougher and brighter as it goes on, rougher representing the Pirates really camping down and then that slight hopeful tone to Raymans theme punching through is just brilliant. The Precipice is the perfect example of that I think

    • @stressrepellentmachine

      @@monkeyman767 rayman 3 is great and i do like the shift from dark and atmospheric to dark comedy, but I do really wish there was a Rayman 4 that went back to the tone of R2 by far. Damn game left us on the worst cliffhanger ever with "See you in Rayman 4." LOL

Rayman is walking, the drum begin and this red pirate jumping and unleashing the hell on my little guy with barrels ... You know, it's kinda funny; when listened to individually, they don't sound like they could go together. But, when you actually do put them together, the transition to each track is pretty seamless. Still, whether combined or separate, these tracks are more than able to stand on their own. My favorite will always be part 4 though, which I think makes for a great finale to this medley.

    I think that these tracks were slightly different on the PC version, but long before you came up with this, I *DID* occasionally wonder if all four tracks could've been put together as a long medley.
    A pity that I'm not much of a remixer, though. Glad you came up with this, honestly.
    Also, "Pirates (Part 4)" gives off the impression that Rayman's channeling Dante from Devil May Cry 3, and isn't just being a slippery target, but is *ALSO* taunting them fiercely, thoroughly infuriating Razorbeard and his Robo-Pirates.
