All WCQ has to do is put more spin in to Ma's backhand and he'll dominate him as he usually does, Ma has a strong block on his backhand (but he has a one dimensional block backhand) and WCQ played into it with v fast shots and not too much spin, mark my words he won't get surprised and caught out again in Saudi Smash. WCQ has the complete game with no weaknesses whereas Ma has a weak backhand (in comparison to WCQ and FZ). Big f man firstly and ma long's backhand block is designed to counter spin, I know that since I also play my block like him. And also, I know someone that played bundesliga for some time and he also told me that. And ma long doesn't have a weak backhand. He just didn't use it before because he still played his forehand dominant game, but he can't do that anymore since he's too old and slow. His backhand is, if he actually uses it, as strong as wang chuqin's backhand, but he uses it way better. That may change, since ma long has way more experience than wang chuqin, but not in a few weeks. Plus, it's also easy to say for you from your pc that wcq just has to put more spin onto the backhand, which is as I said not true firstly, but there's a reason why he didn't do that in the game. He didn't have the time to do it. Ma long placed his blocks, pushes and counters extremely well, so that wang couldn't do anything. So overall, the only real reason why ma long lost to wang chuqin all the times before is because he wanted to play like he was still 26, but his body couldn't do that anymore, so he hit a lot of edge and didn't get some shots. But he's now changed his style, and he's playing much calmer, and more strategic than before. He shortened the movements of some things, for example his forehand topspin. You couldn't really see any edges (still like 2 or 3 but that's a normal amount), since he doesn't "charge up" his forehand as much anymore. The movement is way shorter, so it has less power, but he places it better, and also is more consistent. Same with the backhand, he shortened the hip rotation movement to be faster overall. Plus, he places all of his balls so that the opponent can't give him any difficult placements. They also can't really put any special spin on the ball. Maybe ma long is gonna lose. Who knows. But. His chance of winning if he keeps up this style are higher than those of the other players. Since he counters left handers and is still stronger than all right handers.
Fan zhendong has to at least reach the saudi smash finals, and ma long has to perform badly. That's the only way I see fan zhendong getting picked over ma long.
