I will always remember this as Matt's song. Thankful for all these years and what he's done for the band. He is a part of the blink family as far as I am concerned.
IMO the strength is how well Skiba and Hoppus play off each other in the harmonizing. My favourite on the album, easily... and maybe one of my top 3 favourite blink songs.
I cant understand you people. I cant believe you are giving such hate to one of the most important bands of our childhood :/ I just can thank mark, travis and matt to make this album, becouse whatever the case may be after all this years to have blink-182 its a great gift. If it sounds to you like AVA or +44, shit dudes, that bands are the projection of the self members of blink-182 after all this years...
Agreed, Mark and Travis really care about blink fans, and actually pay tribute to their earlier work that hooked us in. I'm glad to see humor injected into blink again. And Matt is just a huge fan so it's awesome to see him having fun doing this, and his vocals sound great too.
I actually not seeing that much hate. I see way more likes than dislikes, and just about every comment that shows up is a positive one... It turned out very good (I love this song the most I think), but on the other side if you are a true Blink fan you know Tom was the shit in their live performances (not one of the people saying "OMG Tom's voice is so bad", yeah he said live he does it on purpose for fun, and I love it!) That's more of what I will miss. But, again I do love this new album now. Very good!
seriously! i can't stop playing it. it's on repeat. sounds the most honest, in my opinion. this is definitely a matt skiba and the sekrets type song. the guitar does sound like something tom would have done, but man this is tight!
+weakweek85 this does song like something tom would write in terms of the guitar parts. It has an AVA feel to it. I don't care what anyone says there is a reason this will be my fav off the album, I have a strong connection to AVA music & tom style of writing of music. But this song right here sounds good as a blink track. This album didn't disappointment me
+DarkFeatherz I love the album. And I like that this song has a bit of a neighborhoods feel to it. I just thought the intro riff sounded like they were trying to steal toms style. But skiba makes up for it with this rockin chorus. So I think I'm over it. This song is the best they've released in years.
It's funny how it starts off as an average AVA song and then the chorus kicks in and becomes one of the best blink-182 songs since their self titled album.
exactly right. Mark is like, "oh I'm sorry, is this what you were trying to do Tom?" if ava sounded more like this, they would be mega huge simply because this is a perfect chorus for Tom to get back to his roots with. Matt does a good job here, don't get me wrong. great hook.
AVA's latest EP actually sounds a lot like this. It came out a few months ago. Actually a very good EP. Some of the only material I have liked from AVA since the beginning.
To me this is a song about a girl that you are dating that you really liked, fell in love, or thought she was one then suddenly she left you without saying anything and you are left alone to wonder. This happened to me twice. Two of the girls I dated were special to me and they both left me alone without saying anything. I was really heartbroken and it made me sad for quite a good period of time. I didn't wonder too much as I later had a good idea to why but I keep thinking to myself that I could've been a really happy person if one of them really felt the same as I did. It's sad as I really did put myself out there. Now I'm currently working on myself as I have a couple good ideas on how to make myself a more attractive person so that I can find her.
all you guys reading that comment i kinda regret writing all that. Please do not get married family court law is fu*cked up. just be the attractive version of yourself and dont date too serious. just read "the rational male" by rollo tomassi and "the unplugged alpha" by rich cooper
One of my fav songs in this album. I swear, I've fallen in love with this album so quick. Ppl who won't even give it a chance are missing out on such a great album.
I love this album period. I know I have to accept Tom is gone but I believe he'll come back. I can feel it. All of these guys serve a bond together and finishing their careers without all original members would be a sad mistake. I believe when Tom returns possibly in the future they will make a final album.
I hope this is the next single. The only problem being that it is, like they say, structurally similar to Bored to Death. That chorus is too killer to miss though.

+Titty Fucker either both of those or Mark has just as much to do with the spacy sound in blink. I mean +44 sounds pretty spacy even though it's more in the techno rock side. also I see you all over these videos and I definitely agree with what you're saying. this album is giving me mixed feelings and I've been listening to blink literally my entire life and I just saw them last week finally
This album is pure gold. Ive been a blink fan since i was 10 and im now 23. 13 years of the best band on earth in my life. And this album is definitely the right direction they should be heading. Neighborhoods was the wrong path for them too take.
I used to go for my daily lockdown walk with California playing... My favourite part was always when this song came and I used just looking out at River Thames all alone wondering what is this crazy times!!
In a track by track breakdown recorded for NME, guitarist Matt Skiba said: ‘Left Alone’ that was another song, to me, you know I’m such a huge fan of this record. To me, front to finish, I really love every song for different reasons. ‘Left Alone’ early on, I thought, was a contender for a single. Again, so hitty, so immediate and huge. I really dig Travis' drumming, on that song especially, was, just, classic Travis Barker. The whole thing is. The whole record. There’s so many parts where I’m like “Ah the kids that play drums are going to learn that fill. They’re going to have to learn that fill.” That drum part in that song, too, all the drummer kids are going to have to learn it. It’s classic. And then, on top of that, is just a really huge catchy song that I thought could be the single too. In my opinion, ‘Left Alone’ and ‘Bored to Death’. Kind of similar songs, but also, when you listen to them next to each other, very different."
***** Yes, I have been playing it out a bit, I think I need to step away for a minute, but it's so damn catchy, fav tracks are sober, home is such a lonely place, san diego, california, ahh fuck it, they're all good.
+182 Arriaga what are you talking about "after take off"? Self titled is a bomb ass album. It was as well known and popular as take off or enema. Though it was a serious album, it was bomb as fuck
Why do we age? I remember high school and the friends I had! I miss a time that never comes back! At least I bring the love of my life on an eternal journey!
matt skiba can go a lot of wwhoooaa in this album coz he loves to strum , my point is i never heard any fills ins or guitar solos in the bridge like tom does! but at the end of the day atleast we still have blink kicking new songs ! 👏
I'm in love with California, especially with this song, but I think, if blink-182 didn't split up back in 2005, this is how it should sound back in that time.
This is maybe my favorite song off this new album it's AWESOME. That being said, I know a lot of people (including myself) miss tom being a part of this blink album, but personally I have to take this for what it is... 2/3 of blink and Matt (who is a part of another favorite band of mine). And I love it. Sound is reminiscent of TOYPAJI and also +44, which I also LOVED. I was skeptical leading into this just because I, like many of us, took the current reality with Tom personally. He completed something that I hold close to my heart. But I'll take this latest effort for what it is... Blasting this shit on repeat and also waiting for the inevitable reconciliation with Tom
I will always remember this as Matt's song. Thankful for all these years and what he's done for the band. He is a part of the blink family as far as I am concerned.
Best song from the Skiba Days. 🤘
Since I heard this song, I now accept Matt in my life.
yuppp
I don't think Tom would make it sound the same tbh
+The PunkSurfer Tom and Matt both have their strengths.
+Brandon agreed
cx
Definitely sickest chorus of the album
yup
This and San Diego and King of the Weekend and Cynical
who are you kidding, they're all good!!
Matt Skiba showing his skills again
IMO the strength is how well Skiba and Hoppus play off each other in the harmonizing. My favourite on the album, easily... and maybe one of my top 3 favourite blink songs.
I cant understand you people. I cant believe you are giving such hate to one of the most important bands of our childhood :/

That's more of what I will miss. But, again I do love this new album now. Very good!
thank you
This song feels like such a synthesis of Matt and Mark's pop and punk sensibilities.
This sounds like the best parts of Alkaline Trio and Blink.
Really loving how this album turned out
Like pure shit?
+Pentecostal No need to be salty about it -_-
Like your opinion? Fuck off if you don't like it.
+Pentecostal don't go on every blink 182 new songs spitting shits. come on man, i kinda notice just sayin'
+Pentecostal someone sounds really upset. nice edgy profile picture. I bet you're a "satanist" huh? how edgy. how's the eighth grade going?
This might be my favorite from of the album

+weakweek85 yes it really is the best
matt skiba's vocals....🙌
Might be the best song on the ablum. This one kicks ass!
Yep... Totally.
No Cynical is lmao
+ChugGodOfNA//Indented Uhc cynical is too short this song is a killer
My favorite too!
song is way to poppy
BEST CHORUS ON THE DAMN ALBUM! THANK YOU MATTHEW SKIBA!! Next single, blink, PLEASE!!!
The vocal harmonies in the chorus are incredible.
This is one of the best Blink songs of all time. There - I said it.
lol
Agreed
NEVER
This became one of my favorite songs the first time I heard it. Really underrated.
That's a bit of a stretch.. but that is your opinion I suppose.
It's funny how it starts off as an average AVA song and then the chorus kicks in and becomes one of the best blink-182 songs since their self titled album.

+Chris Farina (Modest) The Dream Walker, or whatever?
+Mark Morbitzer Chasing Shadows
What tf is AVA
my childhood heroes are back. *sobs*
i feel ya
2/3
+RUclips viewer 1/3 actually
+RUclips viewer Tom was never my childhood hero
besides the lovely ballad, this is becoming my favorite song on the album. those harmonies in the chorus hit my eardrum sooo nicely 👌🤘🤘🤘
No likes
+valentin armenta look again... bitch.
LoveBaseballLove *eargasm*
This song is amazing.
This is album has blown me away! This is the music I've been waiting for ever since Blink 182 got back together. Phenomenal album!
Probably my favorite song on the album
Goosebumps every time Matt comes in with the chorus
I really like this song, especially the harmonies between Matt and Mark!!

I know that feel bro. Happened to me recently.
Hope you've found the solution! You deserve more greatness.
@@honda_nsx_9283 Thanks you too

One of my fav songs in this album. I swear, I've fallen in love with this album so quick. Ppl who won't even give it a chance are missing out on such a great album.
one of the best songs from this album
If Tom comes back how the hell is he gonna be able to sing any of matts parts?
Oh god. Don't even joke.
Thanks Matt, you saved blink 182
I love this album period. I know I have to accept Tom is gone but I believe he'll come back. I can feel it. All of these guys serve a bond together and finishing their careers without all original members would be a sad mistake. I believe when Tom returns possibly in the future they will make a final album.
Tbh I think if they had both Tom and Matt it could be amazing. They've never had two guitars before.
I mean, even if Tom came back and Matt left... they still wouldn't be finishing with their "original" members.
What about Scott Raynor?
+olivera182 That's why I said "all".
So you want Travis to leave..?
this song literally shits on anyone who says Matt can't do what tom did.
cow shit
+Blind Products are you disagreeing?
nope but when you drive near the fields in California you smell hella shit when you drive near the cows...get it?
If all the songs from the album were as good as this one it would kick ass!
+Blind Products totally. you must compliment the smell though.
They need to play this live.
I hope this is the next single. The only problem being that it is, like they say, structurally similar to Bored to Death. That chorus is too killer to miss though.
Probably my favorite song from the Skiba era
LYRICS
Eyes are, open words are spoken
Here's to the sunrise
Head is loaded cards are folded
Under the moonlight
Can you remember, you remember the last time
We woke up sober?
Can you remember, you remember the last night
You ran me over?
Are we halfway gone or halfway there?
Left alone
We're only halfway home
Sink like stones
Fall into the unknown
Break me down, I'm not afraid of you
Pull me under
Slowly drown, I never wanted to
Left alone to wonder
Mind is open, thoughts are woken
There goes the sunrise
Heart is broken, love unspoken
Here comes the moonlight
Can you remember, you remember the last time
I left hungover?
Can you remember, you remember the last night
That I stayed over?
Are we halfway gone or halfway there?
Left alone
We're only halfway home
Sink like stones
Fall into the unknown
Break me down, I'm not afraid of you
Pull me under
Slowly drown, I never wanted to
Left alone to wonder
Left alone
We're only halfway home
Sink like stones
Fall into the unknown
Break me down, I'm not afraid of you
Pull me under
Slowly drown, I never wanted to
Left alone to wonder
The lyrics is on the video
Lol
i feel like this song might have hints of "fuck you, Tom" with the AVA-style intro
+Titty Fucker either both of those or Mark has just as much to do with the spacy sound in blink. +Titty Fucker Exactly. but it's blink and it'll probably grow on me as usual
+Titty Fucker i see you on hella blink songs dude, great name btw
I love this song so much! I'm so happy my childhood heroes are back, don't ever stop making music please!! blink-182 for life.
This album is pure gold. Ive been a blink fan since i was 10 and im now 23. 13 years of the best band on earth in my life. And this album is definitely the right direction they should be heading. Neighborhoods was the wrong path for them too take.

It gave me goosebumps when Matt starts scream "Left Alone..". Sooo damn good. Just like he said, this song could be the next single from the album.
Same for me. Everytime.
Holy shit Matt sounds so good in that chorus
This song is so damn beautiful.
THIS is what Matt brings to the table people. He is a solid replacement.
i have to say after almost 4 years of this album release,it has grown on me so much..that's a superb album...indeed !
Definitely my favourite song from the album!
Best chorus in the album. One of those choruses you listen to when sad because the melodic sound just sounds so beautifully emotional.
3rd best for me. Shes Out of Her Mind and Sober scream hit singles

I love the way Matt sing ' wonder '
my favorite Of The album and The worst lyric video
Agree
most of the lyric videos are mediocre
Jose yeah
+Jose like two of them are basic.
American idiot
Grande Blink 182. The best song.
Best song on the album and California is the best Blink album since Enema of the state IMO. Love Alkaline Trio as well, but this stands on its own.
I LOVE this song ... Thank you blink-182 for everything, this world is such a lonely place without you. ❤️
this is the kind of song that you have to listen to and fall in love with it
Gosh!!! the vocal harmonies are so soothing..
Definitely my favourite from this killer album. Really powerful stuff, brilliant songwriting.
Love this album
Song is growing on me a lot...love the harmony!
lowkey the best on the album
This song gives me chills man. I love the new blink.
Best blink song post 2003 in my opinion
This song need a Music Video. Please Blink.
How amazing is this melody?!
This is probably one of their best songs... not sure why it doesn't get more props
Best song of the album.
i don't know, feels like 2005
that's the point here...
+achref marai and i love it!
It feels like this album could fit right after Take off Your pants and Jacket
***** Yes, I have been playing it out a bit, I think I need to step away for a minute, but it's so damn catchy, fav tracks are sober, home is such a lonely place, san diego, california, ahh fuck it, they're all good.

Greatest song on the album hands down
Easily my fav from the new album
Imagine Tom yelling "LEFFFT ALONNNNE! WERE ONLYYY YAFFF WAYYY YOMMEEE"! .. That'd be a fucking hit.
P.s Matt still sounds great tho
this
He couldn't hit those high notes though.
I need Tom to cover all of Matt's singing and then I'll be sweet 👌🏽
Maybe early 2000's Tom, but Tom now would just sound terrible.
I have been thinking that this song needed to be on Take Off Your Pants And Jacket!!! It would've been so perfect
This songs just keeps getting better and I liked it from the start.
I love listening to this while walking around under the full moon and at sunrise
matt skiba definitely did a great job on this album
Should be interesting to hear this in a setlist along other blink songs. It'll flow so well
Best song on the album
Brazil Loves Blink!!!
Aêeeeee Br!!!!
This song is just amazing
Why do we age? I remember high school and the friends I had! I miss a time that never comes back! At least I bring the love of my life on an eternal journey!
This should've been the opening song on California, or should've been the first single.
"Brake me Down im not afraid of you" i love that part.
FAR and away the best track on the album... It's not even close.
F**k it brb need to buy this album right now, this song clinched it for me. This album is INCREDIBLE
Yes this album ROCKS!
lol i bought the whole album yesterday and have it playing on my iPod Nano 3rd gen non-stop now :P What year is it again??
matt skiba can go a lot of wwhoooaa in this album coz he loves to strum , my point is i never heard any fills ins or guitar solos in the bridge like tom does! but at the end of the day atleast we still have blink kicking new songs ! 👏
In love with this song 🥰
Best song on the record.
I think every track on this album gets better with every listen
That harmony though. Awesome.
Just starting to appreciate again California. There are good songs and some are the best.
Evolution at its finest!!

Been to the Santa Barbara show, they were amazing. I now welcome Matt to my heart
Definatly the best one of the album
I'm in love with California, especially with this song, but I think, if blink-182 didn't split up back in 2005, this is how it should sound back in that time.
Nah
LOVE THIS SONG!!!
Hello how are you doing it’s nice meeting you here.
This new album is awesome.
My personal favorite song off the album.
Same. I discovered it by buying the CD.
This is maybe my favorite song off this new album it's AWESOME. This seriously sounds like something Tom wrote. Love it.
