- The very first footage I captured of Summer and her new baby.
1st time mom - Summer gave birth to a beautiful baby boy on Sunday 28th April 2024
Although a first time mother, she looks to be doing an amazing job.
Huge congratulations to Blackpool Zoo and the team a brand new future playmate for little Jarang!

21 year old, Summer seemed to be coping really well with her new-born baby and first impressions were that she is a wonderful doting mom and the baby was feeding well during the visit. Summer was the last baby born at Blackpool Zoo before the arrival of baby Jarang 21 years later
Summer and her baby were sharing the same enclosure as Jingga and Jarang and the 2 moms were cohabiting well together
Blackpool Zoo is a 32-acre zoo and located in the sea-side resort of Blackpool, Lancashire, England. It provides a home to over 1,350 animals from all over the world.

She has really started off well, she looks to be a very natural mother. 🥰
Both Summer and Jingga are amazing moms. They both adore their babies. I think we will all see a big improvement once Jarang has his surgery is able to be a normal healthy little orangutan infant. He and Summer's baby will playing together in no time at all.
