Robert Horry broke hearts in San Antonio in 1995 when he played for Houston. He misses a close one here, yet would be in a Spurs uniform only two years later in 2005. “Big Shot Bob” came through as a Spur in the NBA Playoffs and Finals that year. Horry then broke many Detroit hearts. Thanks Robert for all the memories! Go Spurs Go!
Aside: I worked at an HEB located on Broadway and Basse while in high school and college. Our partners often saw Spurs players shop at the store. One time I saw Horry in the deli; he was picking up rotisserie chickens and a catering order. So cool!

What a survival by San Antonio. This might be the key game of their entire 2003 run. If that Horry three-pointer goes down at the end.....that might change everything.

Same way how Fishers 0.4 shot changed the momentum of next years series as well 🤷🏾‍♂️

@@bobbyvalentino6773 True. In each series, the loser of Game 5 was psychologically cooked for Game 6.

Its funny how u say psychologically too. Because i remember watching game 6 in '03 like, "the Lakers aint even playing with no passion" almsot like they ran outta gas type shit. San antonio just straight up out executed them and LA didnt wake up until they were down alot of points.

I almost shit my pants with that final shot. It's as though it were yesterday. Duncan vs Shaq at their prime. Not to be seen ever again.

Once San antonio got parker , manu, and bowen it changed the trajectory of the spurs team for rest of next decade, duncan had no real help after 99 with a older Robinson and no off dribble guards to attack .. Shaq couldnt guard off the pick and roll, spurs had two all time greats at it at the right time

This game was so close to being a repeat of LA-Sacramento Game 4 from 2002.
Lakers down 20+, come all the way back, game comes down to a shot from Robert Horry.
In 2002, that shot fell. In 2003, it did not.

Look how easy Lakers came back from a 25 point lead…. If Lakers were healthy they could’ve won 6 championships easy with that Kobe/Shaq squad…. They weren’t too hungry this year… but gotta give it to the Spurs… class organization 👍🏻👍🏻
