Classic Duran Duran. This video won the first Grammy Award for Best Short Form Music Video in 1984. They ruled MTV in the 80s.
Let's put it this way. Imagine BTS, Blackpink and all the biggest bands in the world today combined ... they were bigger than that. They were known as the Fab Five in the 80s in honor of The Beatles in the 60s. Let's put it this way ... only two times ever in history was the entire Times Square closed due to musical acts fan frenzy, for The Beatles in the 1960s and Duran Duran in the 1980s. That's the impact they had back then!

Duran Duran has been my favorite band since 1983 and they are still touring and putting out new albums. I love seeing younger people enjoying their music! I took my daughter to see them live when she was 9 years old and it she enjoyed it!

@@orangeandblackattack I'm American and I have to disagree with you. I was in my late teens during the 80's and no American band could even match the British bands during the time. The Brit bands ruled during the time and Duran Duran was the biggest band in the early 80's.
Definitely the most famous band in the world during 82-85. Journey was quite popular but nothing like Duran Duran.

They weren't just huge back in their day, they were a phenomenon. And all this taking into consideration that the so called music moguls constantly slated them. Put them down as pretty boys, nothing else. Karma now though for Duran Duran. A lot of these same critics are eating humble pie, and giving the Duran boys their well earned credit. A star on the Hollywood walk of fame, being inducted in to the Rock and roll hall of fame, two Grammy's, the list goes on. And, still selling out stadia. Full justification for how great this band really are !!!
Duran Duran was my first concert as a teenager back on 84 and just saw them in concert a few months ago and they still sound amazing live. They were video kings on the 80s. So many great songs and videos. Ordinary World is their big 90s hit.

your daughter made a great observation , in regards to place where it was filmed , duran duran were know for going to unique places to film their music videos because they knew that this was a great platform to showcase their great music , theres a video called save a prayer and it was filmed on the off coast of india that has some amazing images , highly recommend it , love your reactions , thanks !!

Its been in several movies. Tequila Sunrise, Shrek2, and Old School are probably the biggest.

It was a LifeTime movie. Farrah Fawcett. Portrayed Diane Downs.
Movie you were thinking of was Small Sacrifices starring Farrah Fawcett based on true story of Diane Downs. Duran Duran were HUGE in the 80s & heartthrobs, and they are still together and touring to this day (just saw them in Atlantic City 3 weeks ago). HLTW is probably their most well known song, but they have a lot of hits.

This video reminds me of a setting like from the Indiana Jones movie.
The Lifetime movie was about Diane Downs who tried to murdered her children. They placed this song in the trial she was obsessed with it. Two of her 3 kids recovered from being shot and lived with the lawyer that convicted Diane.
In 1982, it was not cool to like Duran Duran if you were a 10 year-old boy (as I was!) - but we all did anyway ;)
