I was wondering how looks like his losses. He predicted "direction" of the market wrongly recently (he shorted indices but it turned out it was just a correction and then a new all time high occurred and indices are still going up). So if he is that great (!) why did he recognize the market direction wrongly? I am not talking about a single position, it is about the whole market movement and macroeconomics
dear friend, professional traders do not predict the direction of the market. they analyze fundamentally and enter the positions technically. the direction of the market at every moment can be changed according to the economic data and many other factors. and only experienced and professional traders can manage their trade to be a winner in the end. as he was and teach his students. do not forget the professional trader should recognize the trend, and take the right action at the right time. but nobody can not predict market how far can go exactly. when a market starts to move strongly, the winner is who is already in the position. That was my point. “Experts recognize the trend”. It is more important in the case of indices which reflect the entire market and major catalysts. He kept saying the uptrend has broken in many indices but the opposite happened. Meanwhile many experts insisted this is not start of a downtrend and they were correct.
I think you misunderstood what I was saying! I know if the setup is broken, the trend go in the opposite direction(too basic!!!). But please watch some expert analysts’ interviews on Bloomberg or CNBC … . When they say we see the market upward or downward, they actually have looked at the big picture and considered all catalysts in the market.
