LOOSE HEADLIGHT NASTY! / FARO SUELTO MALA SORPRESA!

I noticed that lately, I was burning out more headlight bulbs than usual. When I went to change it, SURPRISED!!! The lens seemed to be loose!
Many Harleys with 7” headlights are notorious for having this issue. The problem lays on the 3 dumb ass screws that HD uses to hold the inner ring. There is simply no meat on the sheet metal for a decent thread and after some time you are more than likely going to trip it with little solution other than going up a diameter, not a good idea!!!
Here’s the solution: use rivet nut!!!
Últimamente, me he dado cuenta que estaba fundiendo demasiadas bombillas del faro delantero. Al ir a cambiar la bombilla, SORPRESA!!! La óptica parecía estar suelta!
Muchas Harleys con faros de 7” tienen este problema y todo por culpa de los tornillos que HD decidió usar para sujetar el aro. Sencillamente, no hay bastante metal para una rosca decente y con el tiempo acabas pasando la rosca y la única solución es pasar al diámetro superior y no es una buena idea!
Aquí os muestro la solución usando un remache rosca.

Nice tidy install & well explained, as soon as I bought my Fatboy Lo Special I changed the headlight out for a LED unit, but I had a hell of a job getting the original bulb out, it had a crap connector, even though it was new. I will be in Benidorm in May for a week, be good to try & see you Amigo👍👍😎
