Great idea mate, I have a similar cage and a possum and Ferrell cat problem. I will give this a try.

Hey I live in Idaho and have some baby kittens that are strays. A couple of months ago my tom cat was out side and I have had him out for years so I never really worried worried about him. When he was shoot. So to sum up I was just wondering do you think this idea of yours would work for cats?
I think it would if they haven't seen it working yet.
Cat's are pretty smart, after seeing it close once they may not go in it. But it's worth a shot. Good luck !

I have had a pretty good size possum eat a couple of my chickens already. Last night caught him in the coop... grabbed him up..... put him in a kennel a little smaller than the one you have. This morning I came outside to relocate him to a wild life preservation 30 miles from my house and this bastard moved the black tray and dug his way out the bottom through those big holes.... Very disapointing. Going to try out your trap sir.... I hope it works. Did it work for you?
Yes sir it sure did, I caught 3 of those rascals with it. 2 last year & 1 this year.

I haven't had any trouble with raccoon, so no.
I also did not think to check with the law dogs about my decision to relocate the critters.
