      @@professionalschizo Also when you buy a printer, you don’t pay for freaking pages that you print. And you can buy ink cartridges. So going with your analogy, these jokers are not only charging you for the cost of the printer, but I every time you print a page.
      They don’t even talk about the nutrition values of these drinks.
      Majority of these drinks mostly have sugar and I’m assuming you will run out of sugar sooner than anything else.

    This is actually something I would buy. I think the sugar cartridges should be refillable. Only the flavour cartridges should be posted if the goal is less waste.

      Listen, I’m a sucker for good looking women, and some people are sucker for expensive appliances, I cannot blame them.

    Does this machine take into consideration the vitamins in drinks? For example, that mojito made in the end, would it have its high Vitamin C levels from the lime juice, or would it just be chemicals that mimic the flavor with no nutritional value?

      Interesting and very relevant question....hopefully CNET or Cana will answer
      I highly doubt all the complexity of chemicals derived from natural ingredients can ever be replicated (cost factor), so I would not be surprised if Cana's chemicals cocktail (natural, synthetic or semi-synthetic) are designed to replicate taste, aroma and to some degree texture - not more, not less....

    I love the concept but $900 is beyond ridiculous since end user is paying for the drinks when they make the drinks.

    I actually love pivoting the approach as anti-capitalist and taking away corporate profits from the huge global beverage corporations instead of just cutting down on bottles.
    We will always lose the recycling fight until the producers are held accountable, and not thrusting that responsibility onto the end consumer.
    I can see this quickly spiraling into the overwhelming choice paradox of spending more time picking a Netflix show than watching the actual show though, so many cranberry and pomegranate fizzes when most people just drink coke. People are not adventurous, people are habitual.

    I love the idea, though I can't imagine paying $900 for it (and additionally paying for drinks). I'd have to see a demo and test some of the drinks before even considering it, then maybe at $500? I'd have to think of how many drinks we go through, how much we spend on them and compensate for the convenience/coolness factor before considering it. I'm all for less plastic waste though! I hope they do well if only for that reason.

    $.10 to $5.00 I hope that price never changes and I hope the ounces per beverage is if it even knows how much liquid is coming out of the machine then I hope it’s a maximum of 1 L to a minimum of 12 ounces

    What I’d be worried about is the tap water most people don’t have osmosis so the tap tastes terrible. Either it needs an osmosis in addition or some type of filteration on their end

    I know that they mentioned that the cartridge refills are free, but let's face it.
    Printer manufacturers don't make their huge profit margins from selling printers.
    You can expect the refill cartridges to eventually come at an exorbitant amount after a few months of enjoying free cartridges.

      I think they do intend on free cartridges, since they are charging per drink, almost as if you are licensing a song and has to pay once every time the song is played. Which is way more of a recurring payment than cartrigde

    Here is a list of the only things I drink: water, coffee, beer, wine, whiskey. I don’t think this machine does any of those.
