    I have to admit that I am seriously impressed by the LTE SNP 12.2. The Snapdragon processor meets all my needs. The battery life is amazing. The extra real estate makes a huge difference when getting some work done. Taking hand written notes on this thing is a pure joy.
    The commentary on here is spot on. I am an executive & I has been wrestling with the question of whether or not, I need a full OS (like Windows or even OSX). This tablet validates for me that I can survive without a full desktop OS these days. I can check emails, access the web & the Hancom Productivity suite more than meets my document, spread sheet & presentation needs. Given the recent handwriting updates for Android EverNote, this tablet is my new go to tablet.

      Always usw NewPower99 or IFixIt batteries. Those are the only two companies I know of that sell certified new batteries for older Phones and Tablets and other devices. I've bought batteries from both companies for my Samsung Tab Pro 8.4 and my Samsung Tab S 8.4 2014 tablets but still great but the Tab Pro 8.4 is noticeably slower and even though they both have the same pixel density high resolution, I like the Tab S 8.4 oled screen and speaker positions better than the LCD screen on the Tab Pro 8.4 but it's still a nice screen. That being said always get the LTE variant of these older tablets because the LTE variants seem to have better Snapdragon chip sets compared to the WiFi models which usually have a noticeable lag and slowdown because Samsung would put Exynos chips in the WiFi variants of these tablets. I have a Tab S 8.4 WiFi and a Tab S 8.4 LTE and the LTE variant is noticeably smother and faster actually still usable in 2022 while the WiFi only tablet is slow and lags and I don't like using it even though they are technically the same tablets.

    Just picked up the OTE version of this tablet from AT&T and I can't say enough about this tablet. I've owned the Asus transformer and I currently have an iPad air. However this tablet is by far the best tablet I've ever owned. Multi-tasking is a breeze and media consumption is awesome. I highly recommend this product.

    I think you nailed it. Looks great for those of us with Note 3 and other Sammy products. However, for a few bucks more one can have a real desktop replacement with stylus in the Surface Pro 2. I think I'd prefer the Note Pro 12.2 as I have windows laptops, but Sammy needs to drop the price at least $100. Also, regarding your comments about display in Tab Pro 8.4 better because it is same resolution and smaller, which is true, but I also understand that the 8.4 is "stripe RGB display," while the Pros 10.1 and 12.2 are pentile.

    I've been very impressed with the performance, fit and feel and it's incredible screen. You have a stylist with lots of native features plus the ability to multi multi task and it's Storage upgradeable, which I find as a money saver compared other tablets that make you pay a premium for storage increases.
    I'm not sure why everyone keeps saying it's expensive? It has no peer in its size, but comparatively I own the note 3 with basically the same internal and features but in a smaller form factor (12.2 vs 5.7) for the same price? (Which is over priced)

    Never worry about HD capacity. Connect a small 1 TB externally powered portable HD and do anything you would on any PC/laptop with ease. Hundreds of apps, thousands of songs and hundreds of movies to enjoy when needed......anywhere! The Galaxy is a joy to use with no restrictions.

    I have owned the asus transformer books, note 10.1, note 10.1 2014, surface rt, etc. This is the best of both worlds. Is it perfect no. The price is high but it has to be to keep the 10.1 at its level. Look at it as is a bigger screen , more productivity, better battery,faster charging, and bundled apps , newer os version. Are those features worth $150 extra (vs note 10,1 2014)... for me yes. Watching videos and working on documents while on the web is an every day thing for me. It is expensive but to those that need it I think it is worth it. I enjoyed my surface rt for work but for entertainment it was too behind in apps and features.

    Very detailed and nice review. Just one question. I have been using several generations of iPads in my law office in the last few years and since Nov last year, I have also used the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 (with the highest specifications possible) . The Surface Pro 3 is really a disappointment as the use is not very smooth and a lot of the words are too small to read. I am planning to replace my Surface Pro 3 with a Galaxy tablet. Should I replace it with Galaxy 2014 or Galaxy Pro 12.2? Thanks.

    Great video, thanks for detailing this device some more. I personally cant decide on this device or the newer Asus TF701T. 2 main questions; is the TF701T screen comparable to these new Galaxy Pro's and which chipset do you really prefer... Tegra4 or Exynos 5 or even the Snap Dragon 800? I wont be playing much games but everyday work and some light photo/movie editing. Thx again!

    USB 3.0 is several times faster than USB 2.0 that apply only to DATA-SPD. not for BUS-POWER. Bus full power is around 5 watts, you're right about 'slooow' charging rate. Samsung should of use something like laptop style charging ( around 15 to 25 watts). For video camera without stereo mic is very old school audio. This tablet has 2K display screen is "TWICE" of full 1080p, this is around 50% more pixels than iPad Air with retina display.

    Thanks for this outstanding video, I know it takes to breakdown such a versatile device. I like the charging port being on the side, so you can charge while using the device easier. I heard that the Snapdragon variants charge faster, btw. I am waiting on the GSM LTE SM-P905, and I am still keeping my SM-P605 10.1 2014 LTE, as I see them serving different purposes.

    Wonder what Samsung will do with the next version. Use the new stylus and software from the Note 5?
    I think it's the best tablet on the market. Having the stylus DOES make a difference. Especially for power users and business people. Contract signing. architectural changes that can be immediately sent once changed..Etc.
    The IPad Pro will have stylus support. So it will be competitive with the Note Pro. Just make sure not to buy the $99 stylus. Can buy a Wacom of Just Mobile for around $20.00.
    Odd there's still no news on the Note Pro's replacement. Will it be called the Note Pro 2? :)

    I want a pivoting stand for this,but i want it to be able to pivot down. I want it for my desk, I sold my ipad and bought this, i realized after I got a 8.4 tab I ended up using the ipad 10 inch as a desktop hooked up with a wireless keyboard and mouse, so I opted for a bigger screen thats why i got this. My ipad had a stand that could pivot downwards, need one like that for my samsung tab. My job requires me to always be working and studying so I need this quickly, no time for set backs. #actuary

    I have this same tablet and for some reason it just keeps refreshing itself every minute or so. It seems the only way to get it to stop refreshing itself is to turn on AIRPLANE MODE. Putting it in AIRPLANE MODE, of course, means I can't use the internet. Can someone please tell me what to do about this/how to fix this? Thank you in advance!

    I got a question in regards to the the battery overheating... mine continually overheats when running games... usually angry birds, guess the emoji, solitaire... basically anything... have you run into this issue??? if so how did you take care of it??? I purchased this mainly for running star gazing software... SkySafari 4Pro & Star Walk... but this overheating problem really gets irritating... it might be better if the female voice wasn't so irritating but I doubt it... anyway I am desperately looking for a good way to keep this from overheating other then replacing the battery and HOPING this fixes it... that is not only expensive but would void any warranty I got... Other ideas were put some venting holes in the back plate or somehow get heat sinks attached to the battery but again that would voiding my warranty... PLEASE HELP!!! I am so disappointed with my battery... it overheats every 10min at best... drains in 6 hours... and to replace it over $100... I want to snap this thing in half multiple times a day but it cost me to much so I can't... HUGE problem...

      @abm4952 9 лет назад +1

      I am surprised you have not gotten a response yet!!! I am considering buying a tablet now, and what you just mentioned just changed my mind about this machine! This same problem happens with my Galaxy S4. Sometime when I wake up in the morning it is heating and draining 1%/minutes. I dont think this is a battery problem, but I might be wrong. In any case, while I love my galaxy S4, I am frustrated with these little problems samsung products have. I am considering Surface Pro 3, but I need to research more.
      p.s. Please someone reply to this comment! Battery overheating is a huge problem, if it exists.

    • @abm4952

      Also this might be a processor issue that is only happening to your device, which is resolved by a quick reset. I just searched the issue, and it is not widespread. So If you have warranty, just send it out to them, get a new one.

      Jamison Ryun Well, my Note Pro 12.2 just went to black. bought it Mar 2014. Had to take it off the Verizon LTE for this reason, overheating and fast draining while watching movie on Googleplay. Got such poor service from Verizon who told me they were having zero problems with this device (they told me a prepaid box would be coming, that didn't happen, I hadn't paid for their insurance) then poor service from Samsung when I called in for a new service ticket -- I'd have to pay $30 (including insurance just to send it back, and I would not be receiving a new one no matter what). They refused to send me a new charger cord, despite the tablet rejecting the cord as the wrong one. Instead, I bought a $25 new charger cord from Amazon -- and it actually would at least charge well! After that, using WiFi I made some use of tablet (limited considering I paid $100 extra for LTE model) -- it has a beautiful screen -- using it mainly for mail, art classes, and book reading at home or in Bluetooth car. Makes me never want to buy a Samsung again, since I was put back over $900 inc. tax for it when came out. Today, so happy with my $100 Amazon Fire HD 6, which I thought was for a kid -- but it's not! Must fix Note Pro (which is dead) but "UbreakitweFixit" guys sound like used car sales. Looked up NEW BATTERY for 12.2 which sells on Amazon for $30 or $60 -- and there's a video on RUclips how to install it. Just worried it could be the charge receptacle instead. Any suggestions?? Anyone have success replacing battery on own? Recommend a brand of battery?

    Does the stylus charge while it is in it's storage compartment?

    • @velvetrooster5569
      @velvetrooster5569 2 года назад

      It's not battery powered. Not sure how that works but it does. Same as the Samsung Galaxy Note phones up until the Note 9 which added Bluetooth button functionality to the S-Pen. So the Samsung Galaxy Tab Note Pro 10.5 and 12.2 do have S-Pen that live inside the pen slot on the tablets but they don't require battery so no they do not charge. My Tab S8 Plus came with a Bluetooth S-Pen witch charges from the tablet battery but that's because it has Bluetooth functionality. My Samsung Note 9 originally came with a battery powered pen but that had Bluetooth functionality for the button on the pen. For these older tablets and older phones they work with frequency connections from the phone or tablet connecting the the frequency of the S-Pen but that only one or two inches away from the tablet or phone. I hope that explains it in a way that you can understand.

    I have the 10.1 (2014) and the 12. 2 Galaxy Edition. And one tablet I will have to give to my girlfriend (-:.. It will be the 12.2. , because the 10.1 has a lot better screen. At the 12.2 you can see (if you compare with 10.1) pixels, shadows and rough edges of the letters. So right now I recommend the 10.1 (2014) edition.
