James is practicing our homemade Mac & Cheese recipe for an upcoming Mac & Cheese Challenge at his Culinary Arts Program!
Oma’s Mac & Cheese Recipe:
Ingredients:
-2 Cups Elbow Pasta
-2 T Butter
-2 T Flour
-2 1/2 C Milk
-3 C Shredded Cheddar
-Salt/Pepper to Taste
Directions:
1. Cook Pasta according to box
2. Melt butter in a pot and then whisk in flour
3. Whisk for 2 minutes
4. Add Milk and whisk until thickened and bubbling
5. Turn off heat and stir in cheese
6. Pour into a casserole dish
7. Bake 350 degrees for 25 minutes
8. Let sit for 10 minutes before serving
*Optional: Add crushed ritz crackers before baking
*Serves 8 people

There are countless people on social media these days who create content on parenting, better ways of relating to children, and how to raise a child to be confident and competent. Parents who allow a toddler to cook with minimal interruption so that the child can learn a new skill independently. She really pressed record and posted this without an ounce of shame? 🥴
The way she thrives on outrage I wouldn’t be surprised if she purposely antagonized James to further outrage viewers. This really isn’t a good look and it’s heartbreaking witnessing these children have to deal with a mother who is so unserious and incompetent.
I have 5 dogs that all have their own bowls they eat out of. Why are your kids eating out of the serving dish? That’s a fast way to spread germs. 🤮
Poor guy. She will not let off and is clearly sooooo aggravated the whole time. She seems resentful and I feel like he is always having to monitor her mood.

Give James the kitchen and let him do his thing. However it comes out it will be his own. He got this. I have faith in him. I am team James all the way.
I was just going to say the same thing. He's done it before...so let him do it by himself! Also...you don't need conversation while you should be concentrating on the task and following the recipe himself, for example the first step of warming the oven.
Alicia your different treatment of certain kids is very blatant .. my heart goes out to James , he clearly wanted to tell you to leave him alone but couldn’t . Situational awareness wasn’t there at all . Let him do him without the micromanaging. His demeanor is clearly uncomfortable with you there and the interaction between you both seems so so distant , almost as if you were meeting each other for the first time . The amount of kids that you have has taken away from the quality time that you are able to give each child and it’s so evident. The weekly one on one date that u have with a different kid every week isn’t enough and it’s so clear in this video alone . Honestly quality is much better than quantity imo 🤷♀️

I only started watching because I thought it was going to be James cooking. She needs to just leave him alone because he has to this tomorrow by himself. And I think he's capable without your backseat cooking Alicia
She completely distracted him when he was heating the butter. He said it was brown when he put the flour in. The butter was cooked for too long. Mom just let him stand by the stove stirring the butter and deciding per the recipe when the flour goes in. That stupid spoon on the pot was stupid!
To be fair, the title does say with James lol. Not, James making mac and cheese! .......she's not click baiting, negative Nancy
You could've let him cook the way he wanted to and please stop with that mean attitude. You also did it in the Costco haul before. Poor James he's walking on egg shells when she's with you. You could've appreciated him for his willingness and effort to cook for your family

Wow this woman is incapable of letting her son make mac and cheese ! The snackerty board had to be involved I noticed lol and not only did she not wash her hands she started eating the fruit to then touch the fruit, play with her hair, kept picking the pasta box up she just has to touch everything... poor James I thought he was doing well and I bet them kids loved his mac and cheese it weren't that normal rubbish she buys 😂😂

Alicia let james do his own stuff. You don't need to prep and measure everything out for him. Hes almost 18 if Im correct, clearly capable to do all that especially if hes in a culinary program. You do have a tendancy to baby your kids and do everything for them... stop that please
One of the joys of cooking is trial and error. James is not going to learn how to cook anything properly if someone is constantly telling him what to do and doing everything for him. Let him learn and show some faith.

Sign up for hellofresh for once a week and James take over the kitchen! Its a great way to learn to cook! Alicias lips and eyes rolling at poor James! Take your OCD plus and go clean somewhere and let him be in kitchen and let him ask for help if needed.
That's a great idea with the hello fresh ,James could do that himself following the step by step instructions, if he needs help , Alicia can guide him , gives her a day off too !!

If this situation was in my kitchen with one of my children , i would of said i will be in the living room so if you need any help with a part let me know and i will assist that part then i will go back where i was. When my child would complete the recipe we would sample taste it. If it was fantastic i would praise them. If it did not turn out we would watch video and i would have said ok ..what would you have done differently to improve your dish..then praise them for trying . and re made the next day with their improvement . That way they will see their self where they needed improvement. That way they figure it out and you are not putting them in a situation thinking you made them feel inferior.
Everyone in life learned to cook and made mistakes so thats part of learning. Also not everybodys tastebuds are the same so weighing that factor must be taken into consideration of the outcome also. Most generally cooks and or Chefs moderately season recipes so as not to over do it. That way if a person wants more of a spice additive they have an option to add more to their own serving .
James thank your for giving us the honor of watching you create your dish. Perhaps one day you may choose cooking publicly as a profession.❤

I worked in a day center for the elderly ,they looked forward & enjoyed the homely cooked dinners& desserts, I helped in the kitchen a lot,loved it , unfortunately the center closed down 😢
