You've got to remember that she is still a 18 y.o. student. She's part of this show/competition to meet fellow singers and learn more about the music industry, and it's also a nice challenge to try 9 types of songs over 9 weeks. She's singing often in a small venue (a resto/bar in Moscow, look at her channel), but she sang in a stadium of 20 000 people in Tajikistan. She's a young star not taking the musical highway.
Yesterday I was at Diana's concert in Moscow, and she talked a little about why she needs this show. Diana said that this show is not about vocals at all. For Diana, this is a platform where she can experiment in different genres, surrounded by real professionals, and this gave her a huge experience. She learns to be diverse and this is what is most important for her. Competition, marks, etc. - this is tinsel for the audience

Diana's just here for fun on the show. No she doesn't "need it", she was invited. She participated to meet new people, make new friends and push out of her comfort zone and try different styles and genres that she may not otherwise have experimented with. It's a learning experience, one which she had a blast with! There's no real winners and losers here, it's all for fun. "I am a crow" was one of her best performances on the show. Still 2 weeks left before it ends, can't wait for Saturday!

I think Diana’s voice is so unusual, smoothing and beautiful. She is diffidently out of the box and I like that about her. The song, “I’m a Crow”is one from the 90’s in Russia. It is about being different, fitting for Diana. Diana’s cover is so great. It is almost like a different song. Her singing will grow on you. I found her songs great from the start. Diana has millions of fans and recently turned down a recording contract to be able to do things her way. She is only 18 years old and just finished school. She is our white crow! Her formal education is very important to her. She is currently attending GITIS. One of the oldest top performing arts institutions in Russia. She is building her brand. Same as Angelina. There is plenty of time for these young phenomenal talents. They are doing it their way, the right way. Not getting too wrapped up in the industry politics yet. Soon though, and when they do go full send, look out!
Angelina's family has been strong for a decade. The music industry knows exactly what they are about and it should be the benchmark for how to groom a young talent. Republic Records has done an amazing job supporting the family wishes and the future for Angelina is bright. Everyone knows Diana's history. Her "mother" now has done a great job getting Diana on track and fostering her talent, however, I don't know if the family has the resources to get a record deal like Angelina's. My fear is the record company Diana signs with just uses and abuses her. Crossing my fingers and praying she gets a good deal.

This album was completely crowd funded by her fans (I chipped in) She received well over 200% of the funds she requested. That says a lot. The "a" at the beginning of "Ankudinova" is spoken like the "a" in "ant" and the emphasis lies on the "i". Anyway, this performance from Diana is just insanely good! It is one of her best performances during this show. It gave me some vibes of "Rechenka" with a with a finishing touch of "Human". No surprise she also won this round of the show. I've also heard the original by Linda which wasn't bad by the way but as always Diana simply took this song to another level. She's really out of this world! Yes, Diana compressed this song somewhat but that just made it better because the last one to one and a half minutes of the original song were just more or less repetitives and also the intro took about thirty seconds. Diana's version is much more intense and captivating. Some info's on the show. It is called "ShowMASKgoon" and the nine participants - all winners of Russian singing contest shows (one of them requires wearing masks while singing) - comment on and judge each other. The show has nine rounds and this was Diana's performance on the seventh round. Except for one time the participants are assigned songs from different genres and have to make the best out of it. So the show has actually also a taste of experimenting and going out of the comfort zone and making new experiences. And there's also much joking and having a good time. At each round there's also a different guest judge visiting the show. At the end of each round the nine participants give points to each other from two to nine (they can't give points to themselves). Then the guest judge also can give nine points to the participants as they see fit. The winner of the round (most points) then repeats their song at the end of the show. Diana has won four of the seven rounds so far - one time it was a shared first place - and is leading the overall scoreboard.

If you are interested in her yodels - when she was 13 she sang Yodel on The Voice Russia. Nobody turned around, but she already had been a diamond.
The "a" at the beginning of "Ankudinova" is spoken like the "a" in "ant" and the emphasis lies on the "i".
Anyway, this performance from Diana is just insanely good! It is one of her best performances during this show. It gave me some vibes of "Rechenka" with a with a finishing touch of "Human". No surprise she also won this round of the show.
I've also heard the original by Linda which wasn't bad by the way but as always Diana simply took this song to another level. She's really out of this world!
Yes, Diana compressed this song somewhat but that just made it better because the last one to one and a half minutes of the original song were just more or less repetitives and also the intro took about thirty seconds. Diana's version is much more intense and captivating.
Some info's on the show. It is called "ShowMASKgoon" and the nine participants - all winners of Russian singing contest shows (one of them requires wearing masks while singing) - comment on and judge each other. The show has nine rounds and this was Diana's performance on the seventh round. Except for one time the participants are assigned songs from different genres and have to make the best out of it. So the show has actually also a taste of experimenting and going out of the comfort zone and making new experiences. And there's also much joking and having a good time. At each round there's also a different guest judge visiting the show. At the end of each round the nine participants give points to each other from two to nine (they can't give points to themselves). Then the guest judge also can give nine points to the participants as they see fit. The winner of the round (most points) then repeats their song at the end of the show. Diana has won four of the seven rounds so far - one time it was a shared first place - and is leading the overall scoreboard.
