Here is Arthur's Birthday V1. If you don't know what I mean by V1, there was a V2 that increased the resolution and added minigames, though they took out Spanish. It's much easier to find these days than V1, so here's the less common version. I know many of you probably grew up on this version.

I remember in school we would take turns playing this on the computer, but me and other kids never got a chance because some kids would just hog the computer. I used to love looking at the menu screen and hearing that music (the only thing I got to see in this game because I never got to use the computer to play this).

I never knew there was a version 1 or 2 i know i had the 2 as a kid cause there was the birthday minigame and the baby picture of arthur on the 1st page was different like the demo of it i saw on one of the other games. Its all starting to make sense now thanks for posting this!
so glad to finally see past the first part of the story lol I had the demo back then and always wished to see the rest of the story. Lol so sad the amount of years that I had to wait. I just love interactive learning games!
In the kitchen scene, you should've clicked on Dad's coffee cup... funny stuff.

I remember this playing this too the part of it I liked is playing the mystery game part by finding clue for present that were giving to Arthur by his friends.
when I pick Francine's present out comes a picture of her she blinks at Arthur and he gulps.

***** let's say a rumor goes in the school which students hear that Arthur is going to Francine at this party at Muffy's house..
***** no its not this computer game I was talking about the book Arthur's first kiss.
***** in the book of Arthur's first kiss Arthur goes to a party being held a Muffy's which went great until Francine and muffy wrote the boy's name(only Arthur's name), the girls name (only Francine's name only) putt the names in a hat other words let's just say Francine was trying to kiss Arthur but not using the spin-the-bottle game she was going to use a different game but more of a different way per say.

@SideshowJazz1: Well, there can be tomboys who have girly moments, for tomboys are still girls, after all. Francine has a kid crush on Arthur, so naturally, she wanted to play the "grown up game" Spin-the-Bottle so that she could kiss Arthur.

Interesting how they didn't include Muffy's buck teeth as seen in the original book. Probably to make it easier to animate. And then of course we all remember Muffy having said buck teeth in the early episodes of the "Arthur" TV show, including the episode based off this book!
Yeah, in addition to that, they also upped the resolution from 512 x 384 to 640 x 480, which gave all the pages more clickables.
Also, this is minor, but the background noise always plays, even when a clickable is running.

The only difference in this version (besides lack of activities) is it’s a little pitched despite not being it in PAL. But the 2nd version, tbh, is much better due to it being normal pitch. Only owned version 2 though.

Some of the games run fine on their computers. Some other times, though, you'll need an emulator like VMware or Virtual PC.
A good free program to run the older games is ScummVM, though it's not perfect yet. It doesn't run The Cat in the Hat or both V2 games. It also doesn't support the minigames in Green Eggs yet, and there's still some minor annoyances. For the most part, it works well.
@TheMickiRae Gobagoo has made one for it, he just needs to send me the files. He is extremely busy compared to the rest of us, and it explains why he doesn't have a playthrough yet.

Francine sounds all girly. Weird. She's supposed to be a tomboy. This is the Muffy I grew up with, but the TV Muffy is probably a little better animated, and better played off as a spoilt rich girl who can still be a good friend.
