At first I wasn't sure about the black, it looked so harsh when you put it on, but then your experience and skill showed even stronger. You know your products, how to work with them and push their limits. The final result is stunning. It's earthy and organic-feeling. Something I don't see often in resin art pieces.

That color combination is absolutely gorgeous!! I'm so glad you mentioned how to reuse the pipettes. I've been reluctant to use the ones I have because I always thought that they are a little too expensive to only be able to use them once.

This is absolutely gorgeous Suzana, love the way the pigment spread in the resin. I am a total beginner and I was a bit suspect when you poured the line of black, but it moved beautifully and was just the perfect separation of colours. Thanks for the inspiration.

Hey Suzana loved the grey pigment and what it created. I find magenta pinks and turquoise heat up very quickly before I get chance to pour them, I love your combination of colours in this geode. Thought it was a new tutorial but see it's about a year old
I am itching to try a geode, Petra does some amazing ones just waiting for my Crystal's to grow, but love your tip about bracelets...cheap as chips on our markets here. I'm sure I have some old necklaces that I could breakup, not a waste when used in a forever piece of artwork.....watch this space 😁😘😘 much love from Debs in Spain xxx

Suzana, thank you for posting your art work! I appreciate your talent and the colors/pigments in this particular video are exactly what I’m looking for to remodel my countertops and for a coffee table top for a metal frame my daughter made me (I plan to add some crystal gems around the outer edges of that project). My questions for your personal & professional opinions and those of other experienced artists in epoxy are; 1:Can I put another layer of clear resin on top and if so when? 2: I don’t prepare or eat directly off my countertops but should I use a special resin FDA approved or something? 3: What resin allows to heat again? 4: How do I determine the amount of resin per area? Sorry for so many questions! I do appreciate yours and anyone’s time to answer though! Thanks again Suzana you’re awesome!

Great job. In the future, don't move the gemstones, once you've laid them down. That way, you leave the natural colour and shine. Also glitter is not necessary when using real gemstones.

I live this pour I think it was the mention of Amathus that caught my eye as I’m not into acrylic pours 🤔🤔
To make it easier for your setup of resin get some pumps that can be placed on each of the large bottles, 😹😹I wish it was only 30°c but we hit 48°c yesterday and due to hit it again today🙀 so it’s working in the house which I hate rather be in the workshop but no air-con yet.

Angela Herremans 48 degrees!? We had that one time last month after having all week of 40 -45 and it was horrible!
Thank you so much for the tip. Duh, why didn't I think of that?🤔 lol. I do acrylic pours and traditional art in winter but Love resin!

I’m glad you like the tip one of the wood turners I watch does resin work as well and he put pumps on his A and B mixes lol

You scared the daylights out of me when you put the black lines down. After you heated it up, it still looked like it had been ruined. BUT!! Being the awesome professional artist that you are.... you added the texture by 'stitching' the line up. Thoughts of the final product... absolutely STUNNING! The black really added tons of dimension to it. I love it!! I would love to know what pigment products you used. Also, where do you get your boards? Are they wood or what exactly and how do you prepare them for your pourings? I am dying to try doing this! Sorry, but one more question... I see you have a few different torches or heat guns. Could you walk us through the ones you have and why/how you use them. Sorry... but if I am going to try this... I want to learn from the master herself! ♥ Thanks Suzana!

VickiEs Designs Hi Vicki, thank you so much for your wonderful review and your thoughts are absolutely appreciated.
The pigments that I've used in this piece are my own line " Le'Rez Expressions". You can find them here if interested: www.suzanadancks.com/online-store/Le-Rez-Mica-Pigments-c27926804
I have 3 torches of diferent size and I use them depending on the size of my artwork. The heat gun is just a cheap one from the hardware store.
Hope this answered your questions. 💜💛💙💙❤

In reference to the last comment from...."Terrie"...I happen to think this is more authentic to natural colors and does very much look like a crystal rock cut in half. I think it is totally beautiful. So if you don't have constructive criticism....what good are your words?
By adding the crystals you've made a drusy crystal!

Suzana, I don't think Terrie's comment was so terrible, and she complimented your work. She just didn't like this particular one. Alice K is just making trouble for no reason, like a person who passes on gossip hurting everyone's feelings. It's OK for people to not like every single thing we do. Doesn't detract from the joy we have in our own work or the intrinsic beauty of what has been made.

You should look into the color shifting pigments! It comes in a powder pigment and it usually has 4-5 different colors. Whichever way you look at the piece, you can see a different color or a nice mixture of colors.
Check it out on eBay! They have "trial" sizes of 5 grams for around $3. I also bought some other pigments from China for hella cheap lol...
I do have a question, does silicone work with resin? All I want is a few cells!!!! The very FIRST time I messed with resin art, I got some really amazing "cells" or they really looked like jellyfish.
Since then, nothing..... help me 😱😱😱😂😂😂😢😢😢👍

      @suzanadancks  6 лет назад

Hi Penny, if you can kjeep the cat out of the room at all times, it's safe for her/him. To protect yourself from toxic fumes, you need to have your work area super ventilated with good air flow while working with resin. Respirator is advisable although I don't use it as I can't create with it on my face! 😉
