What I really loved about Treasure Planet is the relationship between Jim & Silver who despite being the villain is able to fill the void of a father figure to Jim.
This is how Disney should do twist villains. They should have an understandable arc and their motive makes sense. Too bad I can’t say the same thing about Mr. that was his mistake.
@@emoji3266 Don't forget about the biggest offender of them all being Hans in Frozen. He's a perfect example on how NOT to do a twist villain. For the majority of the movie, he's seen as a nice, caring, and relatable prince and love interest for Anna. He even helped out the citizens of Arendelle as they were all suffering from the harsh, but short eternal winter that was caused by Elsa. In fact, he would've made a far, far better ruler for the kingdom than Anna and especially Elsa. But no. Near the end of the movie, his "true colors" were shown because the filmmakers wanted the movie to not only have a villain, but also to push their feminist agenda by "lampooning and subverting" Disney's famous Prince Charming, the prince saves the princess, and true love tropes because they're considered "sexist and outdated" by today's standards. That doesn't excuse Hans doing a complete 180 at the last fifteen minutes of the movie and having little to no foreshadowing whatsoever. Of course you could argue that there were a few subtle hints of him being the bad guy, such as saying that he always wanted a place to call his own during the song, Love Is An Open Door, and having one of the guards point an arrow up towards the chandelier in Elsa's ice palace so that it falls and crashes on Elsa, knocking her out cold (no pun intended) and he can be able to bring her back to the kingdom by force and try to get her to undo the eternal winter. But still. If it was your first time watching the movie, you wouldn't even think that he was gonna be the villain. And don't get me started on that whole "the trolls made Hans evil with their magic so that Anna could end up with Kristoff instead" fan theory because that still doesn't justify the sudden change in Hans' character. It's just part of the movie's crappy writing, filmmaking, storytelling, character development, and execution. And that's one of the many, many reasons why Frozen is, without a doubt, the worst and most overrated Disney animated movie in existence along with it's undeserving cash-grab sequel. Also, Elsa was originally supposed to be the villain instead of Hans. But she wasn't gonna be your typical Disney villain. In fact, she was gonna be a morally-gray one like John Silver . But then Let It Go happened and Disney felt that the song itself was just "too powerful and inspiring" to even be considered a villain's song. So the whole movie had to be rewritten by changing Elsa from a villain to a "misunderstood heroine" so that it could "better fit" the same song. And that last-minute decision ultimately caused the movie to have such a rushed production with only fifteen months left to be finished. That was one of Disney's biggest and dumbest mistakes they've ever made, if you ask me. We were robbed, I tell you. 😤
@@1992disney Well, Hans is perfect as a prince villain and Elsa being a misunderstood heroine is not a dumb mistake. Disney's choice on making stories. It's classic for villains to hide their true nature til later on by tricking others til their plans came closer to success which always works out well. Frozen is still a great movie and has perfect writing in it.

Movies you didn't mention Fantasia - Night on Bald Mountain by far the darkest and scariest Disney moment. Saludos Amigos - Not much to say but the best was it was the debut of Jose Carioca. The Three Caballeros - The muisc and the exploration of Mexican and South American culture. Make Mine Music - The Whale who wanted to sing at the Met the best segment of the movie and also the most tragic. Peter Pan - The characters Peter Pan, Wendy, Tinkerbell and Captain Hook. Beauty and the Beast - The story, the characters and the music couldn't choose between the three.
Yo Brad! You forgot to mention Beauty And The Beast. My favorite thing about this movie is definitely the music especially the title track Beauty And The Beast. I love also the growth of the relationship between Belle and Beast. Great list otherwise.
Snow White fun fact: Disney was considering other Dwarfs for the film with names like Biggo-Ego, Lazy, Snoopy, Deafy, Dirty, Gabby, Gaspy, Gloomy, Hoppy-Jumpy, Hotsy, Jaunty, Nifty, and Burpy. Imagine if one of the famous dwarfs was BIGGO-EGO...what a timeline 0:21 I love the scene of Dr. Facilier's death in Princess & the Frog. 16:09 I came for this movie. *It is literally the most-underrated Disney movie ever made,* and my all-time favorite. Sadly, I didn’t watch it in CHILDHOOD.
Alice in Wonderland fact: An axed song from the movie was rewritten for Peter Pan. Alice features the most songs of any Disney feature, yet there were a number of songs that went unused. One such song was 'Beyond the Laughing Sky.' It was intended for Alice to sing at the start, but, due to Beaumont's limited singing abilities, the song was cut and replaced with 'In A World of My Own.' However, the song was not abandoned; the lyrics were rewritten, and it became 'Second Star to the Right,' the opening song for Peter Pan
Brother Bear is one of the most underrated, beautiful and touching Disney movies that deserves more love and appreciation. Beautiful morality, ending, soundtrack and characters. And I don't understand why it's less of a favorite for you, even though you like the Black Cauldron more.
The Princess and The Frog is my favorite Disney movie. I grew up with it, the songs are iconic, they make New Orleans look interesting such as the delicious beignets, love the characters especially Tiana, and how it takes place in the 1920s jazz era

Not sure why the full canon list was not followed to a T. Must have been really rushed for time on this video! Some notable oddities: - Surprisingly forgetting both Peter Pan and Beauty and the Beast. Saludos Amigos is also missing despite fitting into criteria. - Claiming Ralph Wrecks the Internet is the first sequel despite showing The Rescuers Down Under earlier. - Keeping in Dinosaur which has live-action backgrounds, but ejecting Three Caballeros & Fun and Fancy Free for minor live-action use. - No Fantasia or Fantasia 2000, but keeping in Melody Time (which also has minor live-action segments) - Hell, just leaving out most of the Wartime films. Only Make Mine Music is not on Disney+ and it's segments can be found elsewhere.

Insulting sleeping beauty is annoying imo. Saying maleficent is the only good part of the movie as if the visuals alone elevate the movie to a completely different level is insulting
It's no contest that Disney has certainly been a leader in the animation industry for almost a century. My favorite Disney movie The Lion King in my opinion is the best of all the films. It retold the story of Hamlet with wild animals, and showed the great circle of life that exists in the real world with animals dying everyday. Also The Jungle Book, Tarzan, Beauty And The Beast, Aladdin, and the underrated Brother Bear are all amazing Disney movies imo.🏰✨

Raya and the Last Dragon - the usage of South-East Asian cultures
Encanto - like Moana, the music by Lin-Manuel Miranda
The Hunchback of Notre Dame - Frollo and the dark tone
I love The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, The Lion King, Pocahontas, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hercules, Mulan, Tarzan, The Emperor's New Groove, Lilo and Stitch, Atlantis The Lost Empire, Brother Bear Oliver and Company and Beauty and the Beast.
What! you guys forgot Beauty And The Beast. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 Please talk about Belle's attractiveness of how many times that Belle had that little strand of hair that falls in the center of her forehead in all 3 animated films even when she wore her hair straight too. 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍. I just love it when Belle wears her blue apron dress. I have a massive crush on Belle in her blue apron dress.
He talks about Beauty and the Beast if you turn on the close captions.
You forgot to include beauty and the beast
The title should be renamed "One thing we loved about almost ever Disney animated movie"
The Lion King will always be my favorite. 😍
Should defintly do this for pixar and dreamworks
Melody Time is so underrated and one of my personal favorites of the Disney Canon. Glad to see it get some recognition here.
Agree! ❤
You skipped Beauty and the Beast?!
I agree with you on The Hunchback of Notre Dame though. EPIC!

In Mulun, even though they intended not to have singing in the second half, a little bit of "Be a man" came back at the plan into action.👍
HOW COULD YOU LEAVE OUT BEAUTY AND THE BEAST!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah! It’s a beloved movie that deserves a mention!
Not sure why the full canon list was not followed to a T. Must have been really rushed for time on this video!
Some notable oddities:
- Surprisingly forgetting both Peter Pan and Beauty and the Beast.
- No Fantasia or Fantasia 2000, but keeping in Melody Time (which also has minor live-action segments)
- Hell, just leaving out most of the Wartime films. Only Make Mine Music is not on Disney+ and it's segments can be found elsewhere.
How did Beauty and the Beast not make the list. Sometimes I think you guys drop the ball on one thing every list just to see who notices.
I actually agree with the list (for all the movies I’ve seen) and get your viewpoint for the films I don’t really like. Great minds or fools we be?

@@emoji3266 hopefully they will do that along with my request! 😊
Tangled was a princess movie after The Princess And The Frog 21:32
I can't believe you didn't do Beauty and the Beast! It's nowhere near my favorite, but HOW DID YOU OVERLOOK THAT ONE?!
I actually think Shan Yu not singing is an awesome quality on its own. If he doesn't sing, you know he's a serious, dangerous villain.
there are so many underrated jems, I'm happy you brought a lot of them up
also... HOLD UP! MOANA WAS MADE BACK IN 2016!!!!!????? Me feel old (and that just 1 of them, but it feels like just yesterday moana, frozen, even treasure planet came out)
love the music in Jungle Book my first Disney movie

The Lion King is my most favourite disney movie of all time
Who did the captioning? Someone doesn't seem to know when to use "its" and when to use "it's".
Ratigan is the best Disney villain EVER.
Sentencing the amazing world of gumball characters for their crimes
Hang on, I'd like to correct that bit about Dumbo taking place "before the Disney tradition of killing off parents". Snow White came out BEFORE Dumbo, and I'm pretty sure both of Snow's parents are dead, seeing as she has a stepmother, and we never see her father the king.

@emo ji bruh I never watched it before
Steve Zahn only played Frank Heffley in the live-action trilogy. You displayed the animated movie, which recast everyone.
The donkeys from Pinocchio are very sad. Those poor sweet little babies don’t deserve to be treated so rotten 😢
Please make a Video on Pixar Movies in this style
So, you guys hate Beauty and the Beast so much you couldn't find even ONE thing you loved about it? (At least Jerry Orbach's splendid voicework as Lumiere deserved a shout-out...)
If I had to love any Disney movies it would be Aladdin and 101 Dalmatians.

Jim Carrey characters good to evil
(Psst! You forgot Peter Pan! AND Beauty and the Beast!)
Cyberpunk edgerunners characters good to evil
Insulting sleeping beauty is annoying imo. Saying maleficent is the only good part of the movie as if the visuals alone elevate the movie to a completely different level is insulting
Please fix up the list and include the movies you forgot to mention! The Three Caballeros, Peter Pan, and Beauty and the Beast need to have a mention!
The Quarry characters good to evil
Tim Curry characters good to evil
Dr Robotnik most Evil.
