      Listen again. Read the lyrics. Border line is there. If you want to tell someone they're wrong you should try to make sure you know what you're talking about. It's a good way to not look stupid.

    • @vingiecat74
      @vingiecat74 Год назад +7

      And it's very common for an artist to change the words so they make sense with respect to the singer's gender, for instance, just as Joplin did when she covered Kristofferson. Don't remember reading that he sued her for making Bobby McGee a guy...

    My dad passed away from cancer a few weeks back. I dropped out of college to take care of him. Was a drinker growing up, only saw him on the weekends. I'd never thought I'd hear something that so perfectly encapsulated the last few years of my life in so few words. Can't tell you how many times I wished I could've left the situation, and I almost wish I could have it back. Can't stop crying to this song, damn it.

    He did great with the wonderful Tracy's amazingly poignant song. I love that he didn't really tweak it. It works very well across genres, just as it is. Smart.

    idk how i feel about this. on one hand for how amazing of a song tracy’s version is, this cover doesnt butcher it - in fact it sounds good. on the other hand, i dont know why i would ever listen to this over the original personally. i dont feel like he did enough to make it his own - but then again, if he did im not sure id like it as much lol.
    i’ll just say its good and continue listening to tracy’s version 😅

      @@stotheak sorry, i didn't know it was weird to have a preference. you're right steven, i'll listen to what you say instead.
      i literally explained how i feel as politely as possible while also giving props to the cover - wtf more do you want? 😂

    Just a friendly reminder, if you’re in an abusive relationship with someone, you have choice. Don’t ever feel like you’re stuck and have no way out. If leaving is what it takes, do it. Also, seek help: family member, friend, or even the cops.

    Listening to this song when I was a kid, I never realized how sad it really is, with her boyfriend ending being a degenerate drunk just like her dad. Such a powerful song, and a really beautiful rendition by Luke Combs. I love it.
