Very inspiring. Thanks prabhuji. Dandavat pranam
Leading a full-on devotional life in China is not an easy task. A great extent of bhakti, vairagya, & viveka is needed. The art of balancing between spiritual and family life must be mastered. Neither should be neglected and our current generation should realize this. Renunciation should be mastered more in our minds rather than our external appearances. Happy to see you leading as an example. Wish you all the best. Hare Krishna Hare Rama

I enjoyed watching this video. This guy's story is moving. he is a real devotee of Krishna but I don't understand why he is quoting Zakir Naik who is a fraud. Anyway, both videos are nice to watch, the baby is cute. Nimai Nitai Dasa is well read in Bhagavata Purana, I was amazed by his knowledge.
Hare Krishna! Thank you very much for your nice comments. Yes, Zakir Naik is indeed a fraud and we have made a video to expose him, please type “The rebuttal of Dr. Zakir Naik” on RUclips and watch our video. Hare Krishna.

Prabhu ji how do we settle a messed up relationship with a family member
@TJ 108 “Insurmountable, eternal time imperceptibly overcomes those who are too much attached to family affairs and are always engrossed in their thought.” (ŚB 1.13.17)
PURPORT by Śrīla Prabhupāda
"I am now happy; I have everything in order; my bank balance is quite enough; I can now give my children enough estate; I am now successful; the poor beggar sannyāsīs depend on God, but they come to beg from me; therefore I am more than the Supreme God." These are some of the thoughts which engross the insanely attached householder who is blind to the passing of eternal time. Our duration of life is measured, and no one is able to enhance it even by a second against the scheduled time ordained by the supreme will. Such valuable time, especially for the human being, should be cautiously spent because even a second passed away imperceptibly cannot be replaced, even in exchange for thousands of golden coins amassed by hard labor. Every second of human life is meant for making an ultimate solution to the problems of life, i.e. repetition of birth and death and revolving in the cycle of 8,400,000 different species of life. The material body, which is subject to birth and death, diseases and old age, is the cause of all sufferings of the living being, otherwise the living being is eternal; he is never born, nor does he ever die. Foolish persons forget this problem. They do not know at all how to solve the problems of life, but become engrossed in temporary family affairs not knowing that eternal time is passing away imperceptibly and that their measured duration of life is diminishing every second, without any solution to the big problem, namely repetition of birth and death, disease and old age. This is called illusion.
But such illusion cannot work on one who is awake in the devotional service of the Lord. Yudhiṣṭhira Mahārāja and his brothers the Pāṇḍavas were all engaged in the service of the Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa, and they had very little attraction for the illusory happiness of this material world. As we have discussed previously, Mahārāja Yudhiṣṭhira was fixed in the service of the Lord Mukunda (the Lord, who can award salvation), and therefore he had no attraction even for such comforts of life as are available in the kingdom of heaven, because even the happiness obtained on the planet Brahmaloka is also temporary and illusory. Because the living being is eternal, he can be happy only in the eternal abode of the kingdom of God (paravyoma), from which no one returns to this region of repeated birth and death, disease and old age. Therefore, any comfort of life or any material happiness which does not warrant an eternal life is but illusion for the eternal living being. One who understands this factually is learned, and such a learned person can sacrifice any amount of material happiness to achieve the desired goal known as brahma-sukham, or absolute happiness. Real transcendentalists are hungry for this happiness, and as a hungry man cannot be made happy by all comforts of life minus foodstuff, so the man hungry for eternal absolute happiness cannot be satisfied by any amount of material happiness. Therefore, the instruction described in this verse cannot be applied to Mahārāja Yudhiṣṭhira or his brothers and mother. It was meant for persons like Dhṛtarāṣṭra, for whom Vidura came especially to impart lessons.
When one tries to settle his eternal relationship with Krishna, Krishna settles his other relationships.
When one tries to settle his eternal relationship with Krishna, Krishna settles his other relationships.
We need to request with all humility to mother Maya to not conquer us, to give us devotional association,to give us thoughts of Krishna throughout, change the thoughts of people to not be greedy for money. Asuras are around us waiting to take us as prey and take away our belongings. We have to Be careful
How u joined to Iskcon prabhuji
Baby is so cute,, 😑😑
It's alright that these little conflicts arise so that we can figure things out more clearly. For example, one point of ISKM I haven't been convinced of is that formal initiation is absolutely necessary for spiritual advancement because there are many quotes by Srila Prabhupada where he says things like the official ceremony is "not very important" or someone who follows the principles is "as good as his disciple".
"The chanting Hare Krishna is our main business, that is real initiation. And as you are all following my instruction, in that matter, the initiator is already there. Now the next initiation will be performed as a ceremony officially, of course that ceremony has value because the name, Holy Name, will be delivered to the student from the disciplic succession, it has got value." - Letter to Tamal Krishna Aug 19, 1968
So anyone who follows the principles is already initiated, no? Formal initiation must go on, of course, and it has value. It seems there are different degrees of initiation, because Prabhupada uses it in different ways, for ex.: "**The eternal bond between disciple and spiritual master begins from the first day he hears.** In 1922 he said in our first meeting, you are educated boys, why don't you preach this cult. That was the beginning, now it is coming to fact. Therefore the relationship began from that day. If you think of me and work for me, then I am in your heart. If you love somebody he is in your heart. The spiritual master accepts the sinful activities of his disciples from the first initiation. I may give initiation very easily, but what can I do? I am prepared to go to hell for service of Lord Caitanya."
It seems that formal initiation is especially necessary for occupying certain posts in the movement: "I want our presidents to be very sure about the devotees they are recommending to me for second initiation. I think sometimes in the past devotees have been recommended chiefly because some more helpers were required in maintaining the deity work. Of course, necessity is there. It is just like in government, the government has need for a number of men to fill important posts, but first the persons must be qualified before they can award the post. Even though there may be a pressing demand, first the man must be qualified. Our system is that after one year from the first initiation, if the devotee is strictly following our principles without deviation, and if he will sign a statement in seriousness, that he will not deviate from the chanting and regulative principles, then, on your mature consideration you can recommend him to me. It is not that we are stopping second initiation, but I want to be sure it does not become a farce and names be sent to me without proper qualification."
So I'd like to understand this better because the ritvik order is clear, but there seem to be some nuances of initiation that I don't understand very well. It is important to know where we stand...
@Cloud Wisher Hare Kṛṣṇa Prabhu! Daṇḍavat Praṇāma! Jaya Śrīla Prabhupāda! In the purport to Cc Madhya 15.108, Prabhupāda writes its possible to go into the animal kingdom if not properly initiated as I think it would’ve shown you didn’t want to accept the chain of authority. Not accepting authority leads to deviation and offenses.
“The regulative principles of dīkṣā are explained in the Hari-bhakti-vilāsa (2.3-4) and the Bhakti-sandarbha (283). As stated:
dvijānām anupetānāṁ svakarmādhyayanādiṣu
yathādhikāro nāstīha syāc copanayanād anu
tathātrādīkṣitānāṁ tu mantra-devārcanādiṣu
nādhikāro ’sty ataḥ kuryād ātmānaṁ śiva-saṁstutam
“Even though born in a brāhmaṇa family, one cannot engage in Vedic rituals without being initiated and having a sacred thread. Although born in a brāhmaṇa family, one becomes a brāhmaṇa only after initiation and the sacred thread ceremony. Unless one is initiated as a brāhmaṇa, one cannot worship the holy name properly.”
According to the Vaiṣṇava regulative principles, one must be initiated as a brāhmaṇa. The Hari-bhakti-vilāsa (2.6) quotes the following injunction from the Viṣṇu-yāmala:
adīkṣitasya vāmoru kṛtaṁ sarvaṁ nirarthakam
paśu-yonim avāpnoti dīkṣā-virahito janaḥ
“ ‘Unless one is initiated by a bona fide spiritual master, all his devotional activities are useless. A person who is not properly initiated can descend again into the animal species.’ ”
I’m sure HG Nimāi Nitāi Prabhu can explain it better but I just wanted to interject. Please join Lord Caitanya’s army under the banner of ISKM wherever you are Prabhu!
@@prajalpi Thank you, master.
I'm still fairly new and seeing all the conflict and factions I'm happy to see who's out there and have everything become clearer by following the discussions. Also I'm quite entangled here so as long as I cannot extricate myself from my position what value will I add anyway? I was thinking of distributing booklets and maybe inviting people to discuss basic KC, but I don't know if that's allowed on one's own?
Another thing is: Why did Srila Prabhupada say that even one who appreciates his books will be saved from animal life if it is not true?:
Amogha: Srila Prabhupada . When people in the street hear Krsna’s name, the chanting, or they get some literature, does that mean they will not take birth as an animal?
Prabhupada: No. They’ll get birth in a good family.sucinam srimatam gehe [Bg. 6.41]. IF THEY SIMPLY APPRECIATE “IT IS VERY NICE,” THEN IN THE NEXT LIFE, HUMAN LIFE IS GUARANTEED. In a very nice family. Simply if he appreciates, “Yes, it is very nice”-that’s all. Then he’ll get another chance.
Amogha: Many people think the pictures are very nice.
Prabhupada: Anything they say nice, that means it is guaranteed, next life. Or even in this life it will definitely help. As soon as he reads some pages, then it is guaranteed. Those who are enquiring, that means they are liking. Their life is guaranteed.
Amogha: One man who joined us about Rathayatra time last year was a solicitor. He used to buy our books but he never read them. But he would keep them on his bookshelf. And he used to always think, “Those are such beautiful books.” He used to think like that.
Prabhupada: This is appreciation.
Amogha: He never got time to read it.
Prabhupada: It doesn’t matter. If he keeps the books with appreciation, that makes his life sure, insured. He immediately becomes in touch with God. Who keeps the book with reverence and love, immediately he becomes in touch with God. Because these books are representative of God.
So how to see this? Is Srila Prabhupada even more powerful and merciful than other spiritual masters? I don't know.
Cloud Wisher Hare Kṛṣṇa Prabhu! Daṇḍavat Praṇāma! Jaya Śrīla Prabhupāda! I’m so sorry I didn’t respond earlier, I angered too many atheists in other comment sections so my notifications are a bit spotty.
Firstly, distributing booklets and inviting people to discuss basic KC is a great service you can do on your own! Yena tena prakāreṇa manaḥ kṛṣṇe niveśayet (Bhakti-rasāmṛta-sindhu 1.2.4). This is Rūpa Gosvāmī's instruction. Somehow or other, you become attached to Kṛṣṇa. Then your life is successful. Somehow try and save as many conditioned souls as you can. Rūpa Gosvāmī says, sarve vidhi-niṣedhāḥ syur etayor eva kiṅkarāḥ (Padma Purāṇa, Bṛhat-sahasra-nāma-stotra). Some way or other, if you become attached to Kṛṣṇa, then all the vidhis and regulative principles and rules and regulations, they will act as your servant.
Secondly, it is true if a person appreciates Prabhupāda’s books they’ll get a human life next birth (not to say that they won’t go to the hellish planets to expiate the sinful reactions for sinful activities they continued to commit but it insures he doesn’t have to additionally go into the animal or plant kingdom) as they’re in the śraddhā (faith - like buying a book, visiting a temple for a Love Feast) phase and will just continue from the point they left off. But if you’ve come to the sādhu-saṅgaḥ (associating with devotees - listening to Bhagavad-gīta lectures and kīrtanas, chanting the mahā-mantra) stage and refuse to complete the initiation process through formal initiation and submit to an authority then that’s problematic. Not submitting to an authority can mean that you’re committing offenses to other devotees and acting on your own whims and mental speculation.
Thirdly, I mean Śrīla Prabhupāda has done more than any other ācārya in the history of this present Kali-yuga so the degree of his empowerment is pretty high. The most merciful? He’s definitely a manifestation of Śrī Nityānanda Prabhu’s mercy and there was no limit to His mercy.
Also are you Bram VE from the AMA Facebook Livestream the other day? You have the same profile pic. Do you live in Europe? There’s a ISKM center in Magyarország, Hungary so you can keep in touch with them and maybe join up there. I’m also fairly new to KC, I’m only 17.
Also this is the video HG Nimāi Nitāi Prabhu made explaining the various stages of spiritual life: m.ruclips.net/video/pq_1ULGSnXw/видео.html
@@prajalpi It doesn't matter, Prabhu. Actually, my notifications are always messed up and I miss so many comments even though I don't even post much. Atheists must be angry. I grew up in an atheist environment and I was becoming always more and more angry and depressed the more I became an atheist. Actually the conclusion of atheism must be nihilism for any sober atheist. Atheism really threw me in the mental abyss of hell already in this life. But somehow Krishna must have seen a particle of sincerity in the search for Truth in my ghostly mind and sent me Bhagavad Gita As It Is (by a non-devotee even!). So I always feel compassion for the atheist and I can understand how they are thinking.
Actually I was so deeply steeped in the mode of ignorance it is abominable and embarrassing. I had only one good quality which is a philosophical mind. So even though I have been following the 4 regulations and the chanting for more than a year by force, I don't have much of a taste for any of it because the remnants of darkness are still weighing on me. Therefore I'm a bit reluctant to engage lest I infect others with my bad association.
As for committing offenses, I don't know how to act or talk without offense, therefore I usually regret opening my foolish mouth at all. Due to entanglement I don't see how I can leave this place (Belgium) in the near future. I don't see how I can contribute to any organization from here at all since I don't have anything. My days have been like this for months: 2,5 hours chanting (I'm quite slow 10min/round if I go faster pronunciation becomes poor), 3-4 hours cooking/eating/washing dishes for family or 2 hours when I'm alone and going to walk the dogs who have been my friends for years 1-2 hours (while chanting without beads) in the afternoon. Rest of my time is just reading and watching lectures and some social media. What to speak about going to work to make money now already I seem to run out of time with just other duties. So I don't know. Honestly I think I would at least try being trained in a temple but I simply cannot abandon the dogs who were my friends since before I found out Krishna Consciousness. So you see I'm simply useless.
So I'm not sure I'm against authority. Actually, even before this I wanted there to be a leader because I realized no one knew what they were doing. So then I figured Srila Prabhupada is by far the best leader. But maybe I am too weak to fully comply. That is possible and it gives me pain. So I must go on chanting and living a clean life. Then maybe... But I only found out ISKM since a month or two? So I'm still scrutinizing also. There is also BLISS. But they don't engage with me. So there are some differences?
The real point is whether there is any need to rush initiation. Am I even ready for initiation?
You are right about my identity...
Sorry for being a bit dramatic.
How do you manage to bare all expenses as you don't work, like light bill and buying grains and vegetables and fruits and all
