The thing with Dricus is he's the same guy in the 5th as he is in the 1st. He never stops coming at you chasing a finish, as soon as he see's you trying to take a break or reset, or tired, he'll blitz you, and just chase you down swinging and shooting. In a 5 round fight a guy like that is a nightmare in the later rounds! Also he never slow down which is insane for a guy his size and strength! By the 3rd and 4th and 5th round, it just gets so exhausting having a guy that big and strong constantly chasing you trying to hurt you and finish you. Izzy just seemed like he couldn't keep up, and as soon as he slowed down a little Dricus got him! Also when the guy gets hit he doesn't stop until he gets you back, it's like he fights on raw emotion and courage, and cardio, but he seems like he doesn't have either! DDP achieved what no one before him could do in the middleweight devision, He took Adesania to the ground, right where he is weakest. His predecessors should have capitalized on this better. DDP is a versatile MMA fighter who masters all aspects of the sport. This is the essence of MMA, defeating the opponent where they are not strong. DDP shows a lot of heart and perseverance. Even when it seems like he’s struggling with his cardio, he pushes through. He is definitely a great fighter.

Nah, Adesanya was a two time champion in contrast to Colby, and Adesanya was the most active champion, so it's very reasonable that his body needed a rest. And he didn't sit out for years, it was 11 months between this and his last fight. Adesanya's problem is that he's a one-trick pony with a counter check hook and a questionmark kick, which was enough and worked well most of the times, but when it didn't as with Strickland and now DDP, he doesn't really have other tools to fall back on as i.e. Silva did.

The thing with Dricus is he's the same guy in the 5th as he is in the 1st. He never stops coming at you chasing a finish, as soon as he see's you trying to take a break or reset, or tired, he'll blitz you, and just chase you down swinging and shooting. In a 5 round fight a guy like that is a nightmare in the later rounds! Also he never slow down which is insane for a guy his size and strength! By the 3rd and 4th and 5th round, it just gets so exhausting having a guy that big and strong constantly chasing you trying to hurt you and finish you. Izzy just seemed like he couldn't keep up, and as soon as he slowed down a little Dricus got him! Also when the guy gets hit he doesn't stop until he gets you back, it's like he fights on raw emotion and courage, and cardio, but he seems like he doesn't have either! Nothing hurts the man either, The guy is a real anomaly.

I think one of DDP’s biggest and weirdest assets is how he puts his head down and just charges forward like he’s still playing rugby. About the left hook @ 1:13. I agree with Cormier when he said that Izzy showed a good poker face after eating that punch. Izzy was more hurt than he let on. Interestingly, Joe Rogan was live streaming his reactions to the fight with Brendan Schaub and 2 others. Nobody reacted to that punch except for Schaub who thought the punch missed. It clearly didn’t. DDP is very deceptive.

DDP achieved what no one before him could do in the middleweight devision, He took Adesania to the ground, right where he is weakest. His predecessors should have capitalized on this better. DDP is a versatile MMA fighter who masters all aspects of the sport. This is the essence of MMA, defeating the opponent where they are not strong. DDP shows a lot of heart and perseverance. Even when it seems like he’s struggling with his cardio, he pushes through. He is definitely a great fighter.

He tried for the K all night and only got hit twice as hard for every shot he landed. Dricus hits like a freight train; you could see it with every hit Izzy took. Nah, Adesanya was a two time champion in contrast to Colby, and Adesanya was the most active champion, so it's very reasonable that his body needed a rest. And he didn't sit out for years, it was 11 months between this and his last fight. Adesanya's problem is that he's a one-trick pony with a counter check hook and a questionmark kick, which was enough and worked well most of the times, but when it didn't as with Strickland and now DDP, he doesn't really have other tools to fall back on as i.e. Silva did.
