      I watched both videos. Is this one just a hack for that controller? I clicked thinking it was a hack for 11-16 smelling bad. Can 11-16 guys use the BG stuff like you showed in the smelly A/C video?

      I'm guessing I can get to the cover where your hand is @20:09 from the glove box of an 11-16 and do the frigi-fresh procedure from there.

    I’ve been dealing with this stench for the last couple of weeks on my ‘23. I found this video while searching for where to drill the hole so I can get the foaming coil cleaner between the blower and the coil. Thanks for the excellent videos kind sir.

    I’ve used regular Lysol spray on every cabin filter I do every customer has been blown away. BG stuff is good too. Customers have always appreciated the extra effort and no charge.

    I would have left the pollen filter out until after you did the frigi-fresh, the filter may have stopped some of the effectiveness. I'm glad you shared this, heard about a similar product 20 years ago but couldn't find it anymore. Amazon for the win!😉

    HVAC & Refrigeration Tech here..
    Condensation is formed on the evaporator when the coil temperature, is BELOW the ambient air Dew point. AC does not always produce moisture. It is very dependent on ambient humidity.

    I use an ozone generator every few months. Put it in the van for about an hour with the doors and windows closed then I run the A/C for about 15 minutes. Works great and it's a one time buy. Got mine on Amazon for $30 bucks.

      This does not get the evaporator clean. Meaning the very next time u get in and turn it on. It blows musty smelly air into cabin

    Remove the blower resistor. Two screws and your done.

    Dirt and moisture equals funk. Putting the FrogzSkin hydrophobic filter fabric under the cowling intake was the best thing I could do for my 2016 F450.

    As much as I'd hate to drill a hole, I hate dismantling the dash even more! If you have access to a borescope, you could peek to see if you're on target.

    In the past of doing similar cleaning of vehicle hvac if you will , I don't put the cabin filter back in until your done.

    I usually remove the evaporator temperature sensor (if its a separate part) and blow the product in there. I use an a/c cleaner from liqui moly. Its pretty damn good too and leave a fresh smell that lasts maybe a week, but the idea is cleaning the evaporator so it doesnt get the car interior smelling musty or worse: evaporator rotting because of the accumulated dirt and condensation.

    All you have to do is turn the a/c off 1/2 mile from your destination. Gets "most" of the condensation out.

    I am not going to lie, I had anxiety when I saw the drill bit. I put the Xanax down after I saw how good the trim clip sealed the hole. I agree Ford should put a maintenance port there.

      Yeah it’s hard to make a permanent modification like that when if it goes wrong it’s expensive to fix. I’d hesitate then do it since you can’t see it once everything is back in place.

    so its been 3 months, any follow up on if foaming the coil this way worked? A-Rod is really brave doing this!

    I pt mine in the drain hole as far as it would go, filled up till it came out the vents

    Why not spray into the inlet where the pollen filter is located? Isn't this where the air is being drawn into when spraying on the outside fresh air intake?

    Im thinking this will be one of the finishing steps on my 99 tahoe Arod, didnt tell you ive put about 10g into her. Full refresh of every everything, paint all underbody with POR15. Gotta replace the blower motor, and this is visible/accessible right behind it. Just the ticket! Especially having put a whole new aircon system in. Thanks for the video as usual!

    My 2020 is having this issue i bet I could cover the hole with black silicone probably be better seal I’d think

    Also, the only thing I would add to the trim clip is a rubber washer just for a little extra seal

    I watched a guy cut open the evap housing to flush the dirt out of it then sealed it up w some tape. I'm glad u drilled a hole lol it'll be ok 😭

    If I feel the need to drill the plastic I’m going to drill a bigger hole and use a rubber body hole plug to seal it.

    Do you need to get the foam on the passenger side of the coil or on the firewall side of the coil?

      Naw as the air blows, it will go thru the evap core and will get on the other side.

    I drilled 3/4 hole and got a rubber plug. It's easier to see where you spray.

    Why can’t ford get this fixed..on the suburbans Chevy issued a tsb and they now program the hvac fan to run on and off for 20 minutes after shutdown to dry up the evap. Come on Ford.

    To prevent this. Shut AC off for few minutes , before getting out of vehicle ,let blower blow moisture out of vents. Its mold that make smell.

    I know it's not the same video, but you know that metal Transfer Flow tank? The 58 gallon? Would you do an additional coat or vinyl wrap to protect the tank long-term?

    I think it’s so hot in Texas, that when I park in the garage with the wife’s Jeep, the garage heats up like a stove, and I don’t have this issue, unless its at night

    Wouldn’t be better to apply the deodorant without the polen filter? Wondering if applying that stuff onto the filter would affect or damage the filter?🤷‍♂️

    Can turn off the a/c a min or 2 before you stop to let it dry out. Wont build up stink.

      I got glued FrogzSkin material under my cowling vents to keep out the dirt and debris from enter the system. It’s not perfect because there are other entry points but it is better.

    Pick up an ozone generator for 60 bucks run it for 15 minutes, problem solved

    Thanks for the video! Still annoyed that this is a problem I have to deal with. My 03 f150 and 05 escape never had a problem. My 21 f250 and 23 expedition both have this problem. 🫤
