I live in Australia and the same thing happens here. Issue is that our conservative party have advertised themselves consistently as the party to get the economy back on track. Unfortunately people keep believing them even though the stats don't support it. The area of the country I live in traditionally votes for the conservative party and in recent years independents have been getting in instead (I will take it as a win because they aren't going to change enough to vote for our equivalent of the Democrats).

I really wish more Democrats, media, and independent podcasts like this would push the truth that consistently high food and product costs are due to greedy corporations with a monopoly on a majority of the these things. I am constantly barraged by posts from the Right that the Biden administration is responsible for the high cost of food. Not the case!
President Biden also put forth the Windfall Tax Bill that would have put the brakes on these outrageous profit MARGINS these companies are making, and every republiCON voted against it. His is also the first administration at least since Clinton, that has went after monopolies and mergers aggressively. We need that to continue under Madam President. President Biden has a real go-getter heading up the FTC, and she needs to remain in place and keep on after these corporations.

I live in Australia and the same thing happens here. Issue is that our conservative party have advertised themselves consistently as the party to get the economy back on track. Unfortunately people keep believing them even though the stats don't support it. The area of the country I live in traditionally votes for the conservative party and in recent years independents have been getting in instead (I will take it as a win because they aren't going to change enough to vote for our equivalent of the Democrats).
