The Excision (Sawing off ) is reserved for old cases with pain on the outer end of collar bone

Sir, my doc (Dr. Arun Kannan) is suggesting me to do an open distal clavicle resection with CC ligament reconstruction. I had sustained Neer type II B distal clavicle fracture 1 year ago, was treated conservatively by a local doctor, but the fracture did not heal and I still feel pain while lifting heavy weights. So I sought help from Dr. Kannan. Will this technique be helpful in my case? Please sir reply. Thanks.
Souvik Its diff to say for an individual case without knowing exact details. I suggest you send details and Xrays to contactabclinic@gmail.com
Souvik, A fracture is different from a dislocation & it depends on whether your Doc is planning to reconstruct the ligament along with excision it may make sense
I’m sorry but this is far from ideal. This does nothing to reconnect existing ligaments and then also removes the end of the collarbone?!
