In 95 a friend of mine was graduating from law school and wanted to get an appropriate car. But she wanted fun & was open to a sleeper, on a budget. I knew the Vigor as a secret sports sedan, but had never driven one. We found a Black/brn leather 92 GS with the 5-speed. It was a stagger to pop the hood and see a longitudinal engine in a Honda. I drove it and, per reputation, it was firmly suspended and definitely leaned to handling over ride. Sweet Honda shifter and that lovely motor and its hard but smooth sound. Great snarl down low, loved the revs. Lovely. I didn't want to push it, as she was going to take my advice. I just said it was in great shape and priced right, even if they didn't come down (they did). She drove it, "Why doesn't everyone want this car? Why is it a secret?" She LOVED that car, had it for years, extended its life way past what made sense, thanked me a zillion times. Cool black chick in a cool black car. Miss you, Wendy. Hey, I want my plant back.
I own a 92 Vigor and it’s one that I will always cherish. It’s a car that’s actually in better shape than my daily. It’s very similar to the J series engine in terms of the block. Besides that I get a lot of people who look at my car and think it’s either a legend or an accord.
@@SteffanJohal thanks bro! it's super fun to drive but the maintenance can be a nightmare. I'd imagine a Honda version of a 5 pot must be much more reliable especially cuz it's not boosted or anything crazy like that
@@bren.nan_ ah man I actually would love to get a s60r for myself at some point for a build on the channel. Is it more so just general maintenance that's bad, or overall reliability?
@@SteffanJohal if you keep them stock they can be pretty reliable if they're taken care of, the main things to worry about on them are the PCV, cracked cylinder walls, the angle gear and the 4c (active chassis suspension) going bad and they can get expensive in the parts and labor department too. other than those things they're amazing cars, i strongly recommend them for anyone who enjoys quirky interesting cars

As a European, i will probably never encounter one but I have an unfullfilled need for quirky 5 cylinder cars
You may encounter the Honda version some day, I bet someone has imported one!

Super cool, hope it lasts many more years
i alsohave a 92 vigor....
Had 2 Vigors up here in BC. One of the best cars i ever owned. I sold mine a few months back. Hopefully can find a 5 speed in the future.
5 speed is the dream, seen a few up recently but they usually are a bit dingy
Great vid. I can’t believe u don’t have 1k subs yet.
Thank you, it's a grind man!
Still have mine! Still love it having a few problems. Need a good relationship with a honest mechanic. I have all tech manuals for it.
Lowkey baddie 🎅🏾🎅🏾🎅🏾
i've only ever seen one vigor in real life, i'd really love to get one as a daily driver to add to my S60R
Volvo S60R? What a cool car!!

@@bren.nan_ very good info, I will come back to this comment hopefully when I buy one lol thanks a lot.
My newfound need for a manual 5 cyl honda
I can relate.
These things would’ve blown up if it awd
176hp here in the states.
Cool content but delivery needs work.
Thank you? Aha
@SteffanJohal you got potential with the content but you almost seem to stutter while reading a script. Just trying to help.
@@Hal_bowman the result of 3 am recording aha, I am open to any constructive criticism I appreciate it
