I am a guitarist and I love Gibsons so much, and when I watch this video I laugh so hard. People who don’t even play guitar get pissed at this video and I don’t know why, Kyle won the race, Kyle basically at that point owned the guitar, why can’t he break it if he wants to?
Because that hand guitar was hand painted as a trophy. How would you feel if you put hours, maybe even days of work into something to be a displayed award just for it to get smashed. immediatly?

Kurt Cobain bought a bunch of cheap replacement guitar bodies and necks and broke the same guitar every night at the end of the show... Hendrix smashed and burned guitars that had cracks or damage from touring... they didn't really have widespread use of proper road cases in the 1960's as they had only just been invented

Music is entertainment, and this was entertaining. The same people getting triggered about the guitar are the same people that would give it away, or let it sit on a shelf to collect dust and never play it.

Smashing a guitar is super cliche and usually only something somebody does if a guitar is already ruined beyond repair and has no sentimental value... like something damaged in shipping. Keith Urban had some of his guitars ruined in the Nashville flood and spent a fortune and a couple years having his instruments repaired to working order... Kurt Cobain had a cheap guitar made out of spare parts and would use that guitar the last song of every show and smash it. just replace whatever broke on it and do it again the next night. Ted Nugent shoots a bow and arrow at the same guitar every night. Hendrix smashed guitars that were already broken.
Most of the time, things like that are just sad props. Still, I'm in shock that he or anybody would do this, especially if it was playable. Hell, donate it to a kid. There are others a lot more unfortunate than this sorry a*#. I can't even afford a Gibson.
