Midnight Rider by the Allman Brothers Band with Over the Road trucking images. Links Teamsters.org: www.teamster.org/ www.teamstersta... www.laborradio.org
Reminds me of the summer of 1982. I just graduated from high school and Dad and I rode our Harley's from California to Sturgis South Dakota. Dad, I know you are forever riding the Midnight Ride...Peace..your little boy..
The truth is that there isn't anything we own that wasn't delivered by a truck.Think about that for a minute. From the car you drive to the clothes on your back. So please show respect the next time you see those poor ol' boys (and gals) out there just trying to make a living. Nobody realizes what these drivers sacrifice for their families just to deliver the next load. They keep the world spinning. Driving is in my blood, I'm proud and blessed to be a truck driver's daughter, Sister, and Wife.
a very well put together video. How truckers do what they do every day is amazing. I know I break out in a cold sweat at the thought of driving on the toll roads to go to chicago comic-con once a year. The fact that they drive these massive 18-wheelers with tons of freight in rush-hour traffic as well as some of the most deserted stretches of highway everyday (sometimes in the dead of night) is amazing.
I have 2 brothers that r Truck driver N Thank GOD for All Truck drivers It’s so true everything we own n wear is from the trucker N I’m starting truck driving school Cannot wait to be Driving
@jeeperpete99 Thank You for recognizing the importance of what truckers do, and even more importantly, seeing the importance of driving responsibly around Big Rigs...
This song is about an escaped slave. The conditions many truckers face are akin to "sweatshops on wheels", a form of indentured servitude, if not formal slavery, in spite of anything The Teamsters can do. Hats off to truckers, because "the workin man is not a sucka!" God bless, drive safe and keep the dirty side down.
I love this song especially when you got to got 1600 miles or more over night nobodys on the road. I love the breakfast theme to thats the best part of traveling is stoping for that good meal.
I was on a bus ride home last night from st. Louis, Mo. to Columbia, Mo (about a 2hr. drive) and this song came on on my ipod. The funny thing is it was about 11:35 PM or so. Kinda ironic, but very fitting. Great Song btw.
The part with the eagle in the windshield seems unbelievable except for the fact that it happened to me. A bird swooped down in front of my truck. I was doing 60 and was wondering why the bird dove in front of me like that when an eagle swept through and caught it. It's wing span seemed to block out my windshield for an instant. It was breathtaking.
Thanks jeeperpete99 from us truckers : ) Very true my friend!! Trucks bring EVERYTHING and people are very unaware of how heavy we are (80,000 lb.) average car (3,000) think about that folks next time you jump in that little space in front of us! I like fireman but in an average day a trucker saves way more lifes believe me and all while hauling your breakfast!!
solo algunas personas saben lo sabroso de manejar u n trailer al tiempo que escuchas este fabuloso tema, cualquier noche en la carretera, saludos banda
people are always suprised when i talk at length about how important truckers are ... and i am not a trucker nor is truckin' in my family. but without truckers there wouldn't be food in my house. anyway ... i tell people to give them space, to flash lights when they are clear to move into your lane. people are pretty clueless about it. my two cents. THANK YOU ALL TRUCKERS!!
my dad got cutoff by someone,he passed them again and dumped a bottle of piss all over her car. why? because hes sick and fuckin tired of people thinking that 15 ton truck going 55+ mph is gonna yield for a car,it happens daily to truckers.
If a Truckdriver ever got wise He'd Quit Driving Trucks! Leave it to the people that can't do the math and figue out that he's only making about 13.00 an hour.
Trucking is a hard life, but a man use to make a good living. No to Mexican trucks, and these crazy ukrainian and hindus. Can we save something for citizens, stop importing cheaper drivers to take americans jobs!!

I'm not much of a Southern Rock fan, but I have to say that this is a truly great song. An underappreciated American classic.

I've had this song in my head for days and it's been torturing me!
Now, I've found it.

Loved the vid! Being from a trucker family, I hate those few who purposefully run you off the road. They give all the good drivers a bad name.
