    Hey sailors! Wanted to make it short and sweet this time so there might be parts during this you'll want to pause at and read through some of the different stats/tooltips
    to get a better understanding of how things work. Hopefully this will end up being enough detail to get you fully prepared for New World's Crafting & Gathering system and
    any other tips that I come across or think of, I'll be sure to leave below!

    19:14 - Conclusion & Last Tips
    Other Tips:
    You can max out every crafting, refining & gathering skill all on one character. Just like the weapons, you aren't limited to just one choice so eventually given enough time
    and effort, you can raise up everything.
    The Gear Score of New World is capped out at 600 now, as a crafter you will need to utilize every possible method to reach this with your creations. So trophies, crafting food,
    crafting gear, you'll need every advantage if you want to create some of the best gear in the game.
    Make sure when you first get in-game and throughout your time in New World that you regularly visit the Trading Post and set Buy & Sell orders. A good tactic to use is to put buy orders
    for very low prices so that people will sell you the resources they get out in the world for a very cheap price, sometimes people just want to offload items and since the trading post
    is our only outlet for selling stuff, you can get a massive surplus of resources this way. Even if you plan on gathering materials yourself, doing this will allow you to multiply what
    you're bringing in and power level your crafting skills quicker.***
    You can craft items at the workbenches with resources stashed in your storage. You don't have to be carrying materials directly on you to operate the benches.
    Only one arena/expedition orb is required per party to
    enter these instances, so either the party leader or
    someone else in the group can open it, and then everyone
    comes in.
    Crafting & Gathering Changes:
    We can still salvage gear but we no longer get resources back from doing it, only gold & repair parts now.
    When crafting consumables and refining, as you get
    higher in your tradeskill levels you'll notice yourself
    starting to get bonuses. Like instead of crafting the
    10 or 15 you put in resources for, you may get
    30 extra as a bonus so about 45 total come out
    instead.

      @@SssshhhhTv This crafting system may be the most profound and obvious design fault in New World. Player driven economy + unlimited crafting = very low demand for player created items. When you combine this with cash shop access to high end items there is a very high chance that crafting will have little to no real value. If cash shop items exceed the attainable level of crafted ones then there may as well not even be a crafting system.
      BIG problem.

    • @TheRealWinser
      @TheRealWinser 3 года назад +1

      Yeah... it isn't that fun. The game litrrally forces you to wonder endlessly to search for resources. The "tracking" range is very short. Also, lower tier goods are locked behind areas with mobs that have infinite aggro range (they will chase you forever) and are often many levels beyond what a player would be. This forces you to gather the resources that you need in less than optimal spaces where there will be a lot of running around aimlessly. Eventually you will figure out where a good route to gather is and you will be forced to follow it because you don't want to waste time running around. The game becomes very boring if you aren't flagging up for pvp. I wouldn't be surprised that the game gets pushed back even more. They keep messing up with core game elements (this late into develooment) and consistently have strayed far away from even their own stated vision for the game.

    Crafting is my favorite part of any RPG I play. Cooking my own stuff from the animals I hunt and the fish I catch sounds satisfying so I might focus on that first. Here's hoping the game doesn't disappoint.

      Don't get too hopeful. The crafting system in this game was a second thought that was thrown on at the last second just so AGS could say there was "crafting" in the game. There is honestly hardly anything to it. There are huge level gaps throughout the whole game where if you want something new or better to wear you're gonna be forced to either grind Faction quest, hope for a decent drop somewhere or buy off the AH. You can't even really farm for drops from dungeons because those are gated behind a crap system where you have to grind materials to make keys just to do a simple dungeon run. Or which will almost 100% be the case, buy the keys from AGS in their cash shop.

      @@trandel_elent so crafting or crafted items will never be top tier items that can beat dropped items from dungeons?

    • @trandel_elent
      @trandel_elent 3 года назад

      @@beasthaven1571 From where things stand with the current system I would have to say yes. Like I mentioned, there are huge level gaps where there is just nothing at all for players to craft for themselves. And it's not surprising that in these gaps is where you find Faction gear. I actually did a whole video where I broke down the entire crafting system and once you really start digging into it, you start to see real fast just how little there is to craft in NW compared to just about any other AAA MMO made in the last 15 years. If it wasn't for the fact that even the dungeons are gated behind a crap system where you have to use crafting to make the keys {or, most likely, buy the keys from the cash shop) just so you can even run a dungeon more than once, crafting would in my opinion be completely worthless. For a perfect example, one of the "green" named two-handed hammers are locked in with only Dexterity as the only stat. That's just sad since hammers get nothing at all from Dexterity. The whole system was rushed and thrown together at the last second and it shows.

      Good luck finding quality combat here. The AI is dumb like no other and predictable. They had to overcompensate for this by increasing npc damage. Question plz: *** Where do I find a station that will allow me to craft a "Life Staff" and also a "Fire Staff" if I am low level? I was only lvl 6 and didn't see anything except for a camp fire allowing me to make a sword. TY1 =)

    Yo man long time no see hope all is well. One question I have for you when it comes to trophies the description states small moderate or large bonuses for them but what numerical number do they boots? For example if I have a rare armorsmithing trophy in my home will it boost my chance to create multiple of a craft does it boost my armorsmithing level like food does?

    Is it durable to craft gear to increase rare drop rate for mining, increase amount of pieces per mining etc ON the ARMOR like gloves, boots, suit in the game and if yes. How do we do it? I know we can do it on the "Tools" themself but I wounder if we can craft a complete "gathering set" for mining, lumberjack etc? Cheers!

    The big question I have is how much emphasis should you put on levelling lifeskills as you level your character. Will it be faster going back and levelling once your character is higher level or is there something you will miss out on by skipping lifeskills initially?

      If you just grab them while you’re doing your 2km hike to your next quest destination they level pretty quick. I got my harvesting from 5 to 30 in less than an hour just gathering hemp while killing boars and wolves for quests, which also leveled skinning plenty. The actual crafting professions level pretty quick too when bulk crafting. Processed like 90 pieces of iron and my smelting skyrocketed

    How will the 'inventory management' apply to this game/system? i played the early start, and saw the 'storage sheds' and stuff, but it seems like with the expansion of the lifeskill system over the past 6-9 months, there are ALOT MORE crafting components.... if you want to do multiple tradeskills, how do you accommodate with a solo player, and what options are available? (increased storage? mules? etc).

    • @asdeaj
      @asdeaj 3 года назад +1

      You are able to increase your storage in a zone by leveling up your reputation with that zone, which happens passively as you do tasks and kill mobs within that zone.

    • @phesser411
      @phesser411 3 года назад

      @@asdeaj can you craft at the stations when materials are in storage? Are there “any” materials that do not go into your inventory itself? But into a sort of meta crafting tab that doesn’t impact inventory slots?

    • @asdeaj
      @asdeaj 3 года назад

      Sorta. Each gathering and crafting is a separate skill, and you gain new recipes as you level those. But I don’t believe you get any specific passives, other than the tracking for gathering skills.

      Generally you'll want to specialise in one or two - and then work with the community if you need other things from crafters of other skills...unless you have alot of time on your hands in which case you might be able to get them all to max.

      repair kits start to run out pretty often at endgame depending on the content you're doing, making them allows you to trade/sell them to others that need them kind of thing
