Yeah... it isn't that fun. The game litrrally forces you to wonder endlessly to search for resources. The "tracking" range is very short. Also, lower tier goods are locked behind areas with mobs that have infinite aggro range (they will chase you forever) and are often many levels beyond what a player would be. This forces you to gather the resources that you need in less than optimal spaces where there will be a lot of running around aimlessly. Crafting is my favorite part of any RPG I play. Cooking my own stuff from the animals I hunt and the fish I catch sounds satisfying so I might focus on that first. Here's hoping the game doesn't disappoint.
Don't get too hopeful. The crafting system in this game was a second thought that was thrown on at the last second just so AGS could say there was "crafting" in the game. There is honestly hardly anything to it. There are huge level gaps throughout the whole game where if you want something new or better to wear you're gonna be forced to either grind Faction quest, hope for a decent drop somewhere or buy off the AH. You can't even really farm for drops from dungeons because those are gated behind a crap system where you have to grind materials to make keys just to do a simple dungeon run. Or which will almost 100% be the case, buy the keys from AGS in their cash shop.
@@beasthaven1571 From where things stand with the current system I would have to say yes. Like I mentioned, there are huge level gaps where there is just nothing at all for players to craft for themselves. And it's not surprising that in these gaps is where you find Faction gear. I actually did a whole video where I broke down the entire crafting system and once you really start digging into it, you start to see real fast just how little there is to craft in NW compared to just about any other AAA MMO made in the last 15 years. If it wasn't for the fact that even the dungeons are gated behind a crap system where you have to use crafting to make the keys {or, most likely, buy the keys from the cash shop) just so you can even run a dungeon more than once, crafting would in my opinion be completely worthless. For a perfect example, one of the "green" named two-handed hammers are locked in with only Dexterity as the only stat. That's just sad since hammers get nothing at all from Dexterity. The whole system was rushed and thrown together at the last second and it shows.

Great video, can't wait to play the game. How viable is crafting? Especially in the endgame. Are people who only do PvP/PvE relying on crafters or can they simply get better equipment from drops? Can you craft and hold more than one of the the same Arena Tuning Orb's? Or do we have to keep crafting a new one each time we want to activate and farm an activity?
You can have many stacked on inventory. Only 1 orb per group will be used meaning you can pretty much run the expeditions back to back non stop. Not that you will get much out of them because they have made the rewards so worthless that they aren't even worth more (on average) that the time taken to get the orbs.
Wow, this looks like a more sophisticated and way less regionally restricted version of the crafting system in Albion Online. To me that's a very good thing, its very very close to how MMOs were made originally, where crafting is an integral part to achieving anything in the game.
Something not mentioned in this guide, when fishing you can catch more than just fish. I got a blue Treasure Chest in beta! Really awesome stuff inside too!

I am so glad I played BDO now... most of this is the same as in BDO. But learning everything from scratch again will be a plain for some! It really seems like a lot to take it, but just remember that you don't need to be proficient in everything he just mentioned, just stick to what you want to do in the game, or it will take you months on months to max out just one skill.
Well you somehow did it. You got me excited for this game again. I honestly want to just be a crafter. Problem now is that I do not have a guild or anything.
Excellent overview for all professions. Now to find out, which gemstone socketed into your weapon converts your damage to Arcana, and what the secondary effect is. Does anyone know?
Hey, ty for the video! Question plz: *** Where do I find a station that will allow me to craft a "Life Staff" and also a "Fire Staff" if I am low level? I was only lvl 6 and didn't see anything except for a camp fire allowing me to make a sword. TY1 =)
@@davidfrisbie8216 if you’re in town, the crafting station is near the syndicate leader and should already be high enough to craft life and fire staves, plus ice gauntlets
Yo man long time no see hope all is well. One question I have for you when it comes to trophies the description states small moderate or large bonuses for them but what numerical number do they boots? For example if I have a rare armorsmithing trophy in my home will it boost my chance to create multiple of a craft does it boost my armorsmithing level like food does?
Hello Sir Medieval, I havent played New World yet, but i'll test it in upcoming beta but I have a question. Does bow (as a first main weapon) make sense while playing solo?
Hey Sir! Is it durable to craft gear to increase rare drop rate for mining, increase amount of pieces per mining etc ON the ARMOR like gloves, boots, suit in the game and if yes. How do we do it? I know we can do it on the "Tools" themself but I wounder if we can craft a complete "gathering set" for mining, lumberjack etc? Cheers!
Pretty nice and much to do really , and the thing i love the most is the ui honestly it is clean , most of other mmos ui is just shit if iam being modest , even the top mmos sadly they don’t care about ui
so how does your point allocation work? at end game do you essentially have to pick and choose between what you want to craft? Or do you get enough points to eventually specialize in everything?
Should I do quests, dungeons, what level should the monster have. In the preview it's was pretty much, corrupted portals, pvp mission loop or killing high-level enemys/bosses with a big group 30-40 player.
I guess what I'm trying to understand is once you've created the best of the best gear. Whats the point in the profession from that point going forward? What's the incentive to keep on being an armor crafter?
Will it be realistic to have all skills on 1 character? I mean thats a hell lot of materials. How much invetpry and bank space do we have? Is there a "crafting bag" like in ESO? Thanks!
The big question I have is how much emphasis should you put on levelling lifeskills as you level your character. Will it be faster going back and levelling once your character is higher level or is there something you will miss out on by skipping lifeskills initially?
If you just grab them while you’re doing your 2km hike to your next quest destination they level pretty quick. I got my harvesting from 5 to 30 in less than an hour just gathering hemp while killing boars and wolves for quests, which also leveled skinning plenty. The actual crafting professions level pretty quick too when bulk crafting. Processed like 90 pieces of iron and my smelting skyrocketed
How will the 'inventory management' apply to this game/system? i played the early start, and saw the 'storage sheds' and stuff, but it seems like with the expansion of the lifeskill system over the past 6-9 months, there are ALOT MORE crafting components.... if you want to do multiple tradeskills, how do you accommodate with a solo player, and what options are available? (increased storage? mules? etc).
You are able to increase your storage in a zone by leveling up your reputation with that zone, which happens passively as you do tasks and kill mobs within that zone.
@@asdeaj can you craft at the stations when materials are in storage? Are there “any” materials that do not go into your inventory itself? But into a sort of meta crafting tab that doesn’t impact inventory slots?
@@phesser411 There isn't a dedicated crafting storage atm. Crafting will automatically draw components from your storage, so they don't need to be kept on you.
I can see another runescape game poping up. Thats nice and has deph in it, but with so many stuff and items, what about the trading system. How am i gonna get my woodcutting axe T4 if i dont want to lvl engeniering that high. Do you know if they are going to create a trading system or will it be like old runescape where you go to a famous town and spamm the sht out of it?
Would be interesting to see how this topic develops. Im okay with a trading post system as long as items dont leave the server. In this way people that want to restart on a fresh server can have that new player experience again (like you are playing a whole new game)
Sorta. Each gathering and crafting is a separate skill, and you gain new recipes as you level those. But I don’t believe you get any specific passives, other than the tracking for gathering skills.
So are we required to reach max level in all these skills and professions or do we choose to focus on one? Whats the play here? Ive never played an MMO but NW has caught my attention.
Generally you'll want to specialise in one or two - and then work with the community if you need other things from crafters of other skills...unless you have alot of time on your hands in which case you might be able to get them all to max.
You should point out that for the Tuning orbs, only one is needed in the full party to enter. Not everyone needs a key. Also, whats the point of repair kits if you can just repair an item with repair parts?
repair kits start to run out pretty often at endgame depending on the content you're doing, making them allows you to trade/sell them to others that need them kind of thing

omg best guide, i play NW only for gathering and crafting, thx for amazing guide
It look's similar to BDO but personally hate the class system and attacking mechanism in BDO.
thx a lot m8. hope U ll do more guides in same amazing quality
Excellent video, +1 and subscribed!
Very interesting I think I will be doing crafting this game after watching 👀 this
Shew I might be to dumb for crafting! Lol Thats very in-depth.
Well you somehow did it. You got me excited for this game again. I honestly want to just be a crafter. Problem now is that I do not have a guild or anything.
you dont really need one. When i played beta I ran around gathering and crafting for 150 hours solo and loved every moment to death.
Love gathering and crafting in this game 💪
Excellent overview for all professions.
Now to find out, which gemstone socketed into your weapon converts your damage to Arcana, and what the secondary effect is.
Does anyone know?
Are nodes still presets like they respawn at the same location every time or are they precedural now (like rust for ex) ?
yeah they reset at the same location everytime. They're preset.
Hopefully they update the skil caps and add more tiers of resources.
There is like 10 ores but only 4 tree types
Hi there,
I'm from Vila dos Mercadores channel
Good Job
congratulation
Hey, ty for the video!
Question plz: *** Where do I find a station that will allow me to craft a "Life Staff" and also a "Fire Staff" if I am low level? I was only lvl 6 and didn't see anything except for a camp fire allowing me to make a sword. TY1 =)
Hmm.. in your video you says :Arcane Repository; can i get to a station at lvl 4 or 5 and craft them?
@@davidfrisbie8216 if you’re in town, the crafting station is near the syndicate leader and should already be high enough to craft life and fire staves, plus ice gauntlets
Yo man long time no see hope all is well. One question I have for you when it comes to trophies the description states small moderate or large bonuses for them but what numerical number do they boots? For example if I have a rare armorsmithing trophy in my home will it boost my chance to create multiple of a craft does it boost my armorsmithing level like food does?
Hello Sir Medieval,
I havent played New World yet, but i'll test it in upcoming beta but I have a question.
Especially korean mmos, they make incredibly stunning armors and world designs while having the absolute worst looking uis.
Yea and you will be interacting with UI quite alot so you would think they would care about how it looks and feels
so how does your point allocation work? at end game do you essentially have to pick and choose between what you want to craft? Or do you get enough points to eventually specialize in everything?
You don't have one in this game, you can just max out every crafting profession & weapon skill at any time. No restrictions there.
did i overlook or did you not talk about jewelcrafting?
A video about:
The fastest way to level would be nice (tier list)
The fastest/easiest way to level up professions
would be nice
Should I do quests, dungeons, what level should the monster have.
In the preview it's was pretty much, corrupted portals, pvp mission loop or killing high-level enemys/bosses with a big group 30-40 player.
I guess what I'm trying to understand is once you've created the best of the best gear. Whats the point in the profession from that point going forward? What's the incentive to keep on being an armor crafter?
always money to be made from those who dont want to grind that skill
Which mean to create whole single item we need to go through 3 different process. Gather, Refine and craft. Sound lot of work and lot of fun to me.
Hey... how many hours will you need to master 1 lifeskill to max level? aproximate? Nice vid!!
Great work! Thanks!)
Will it be realistic to have all skills on 1 character? I mean thats a hell lot of materials. How much invetpry and bank space do we have? Is there a "crafting bag" like in ESO? Thanks!
Good video, dude. Do you have a public discord going?
William Hesser when at a work station, the station will pull materials that you have in your storage in that specific town.
really appreciate our videos!
Are there skill lines for crafting and gathering? And if so do the lines take away from character skill points like ESO does.
For a game like this, I miss strategy guides
I cant figure out how to find prisma blooms for colored dye
Amazing video, thanks
So you can pay gold to get increase crafting buffs?
Can you trade all crafted stuff? Or are there account/character bound items?
So gear/weapons are best from crafting or expeditions?
Can't wait for the beta
