Here's an easier way...
> Draw a circle, then use the offset tool to create a smaller circle inside the first (having dimensions of whatever you like).
> Use the line tool to bisect the included circles, then erase one of the halves.
> Next, erase the smaller interior circle's flat edge, to eliminate the edge and the face as they aren't required.
> Use the push-pull tool to extract the face of the remaining semicircle into 3 dimensions by a couple inches or so.
> Move your view around so that you're looking at the new faces created along the plane of the earlier bisection.
> Select one of these two faces, then use the move tool and click somewhere on the face to initiate the move.
> Press the up arrow key to constrain the face to the blue axis, then simply push that face up to a position directly above where it was.
> Throw yourself a party - you did it.. 🎈🎉

But when it angles up then it won't be right.. the curve is too short no?

This definitely works and is much easier, thanks! Just note that you also need to select the bounding edges of the bisected face for the geometry to shift, otherwise the face just detaches.

Hi! In the top toolbars, the tool on the right of rotate is scale, which is used to scale up or down any object.
On the left side toolbar, the tool to the right of rotate is follow me which can be used to follow any surface along a desired path.
