♟️ At the heart of the story of the ballet drama RASPUTIN lies the story of a family desperate to save the life of their child. Ruling an empire, but powerless to change the health of their heir, the relationships and power struggles that wove themselves around Tsar Nicholas II and Tsarina Alexandra Feodorovna as they sought healing and relief for their son Alexei played an inextricable role in the fate of an Empire.

There were other dark forces at work in Russia at that time and that is why I decided the stage should be a chessboard, since so many of the players in this drama were strong or weak at any given moment.
