I worked at Tesla starting in July of 2017 as an Operations Analyst out of the Bethlehem, PA distribution center facility and left as a Program Manager based out of Austin, TX as of September 2021. I spent most of my time in the distribution and supply chain organizations.
Before Tesla, I was a Director of Business Intelligence and Pricing at the largest Pet Food & Supply distributor in the US, Phillips Pet Food & Supplies based out of Easton, PA. My wife and I also owned a small business in Bethlehem, PA between 2016 and 2019.
I have been a shareholder of Tesla since 2012 and currently own Tesla stock. Nothing I say constitutes as investment or financial advice.

My car drives me around by itself. I love my car and I still believe in the company. I hope we dip close to $100-$120 again. I wanna load the boat. Apart from Tesla what would be the best 5 etfs for a beginner
In no order: 1) VOO 2) QQQM 3) SCHG/VUG 4) VTI 5) SCHD/DGRO. Personally I put down 2.5m$ on few ETFs, still diversifying. it was this time last year I made my first million with a liquid 200k. handed it to a trader here in CA, I get weekly pay out which I put back on long term ETF's. Google will be a huge buy for me when the market bottoms.

Katherine !! I know her from my early days as an investor. She's brilliant and patient. Many of my colleagues have worked with her, and I highly recommend her.

So glad Elon was upbeat and positive yesterday. It's a lot easier to be all-in with TSLA when you have a leader to believe in. Thank you Farzad for putting this together.
where do you see a leader? this guy is on twitter 24/7 and comes back to the company once every two years just to lay off some thousands of people

Farzad, I want to vote to reaffirm Elons pay. He’s the only reason I’m invested in Tesla.
But I can’t find out how to vote or when to vote?
I called my broker and they didn’t see any shareholder notice for this vote?
Where, and when, and how do I vote.
I’m worried if it’s this hard for me, other people won’t be able to find out how to vote to affirm his pay either

Most people want to have their car ready and waiting to go, not to have to schedule or summon it. Since level 5 FSD is going to be really expensive (Elon says it will be), you would have to add it to the network most of the time else it wouldn't be viable. This can only work if you get charged and can charge customers on a trip by trip basis with perhaps a small standing service charge.
Personally, I don't see it having a large takeup outside of Cities. Even there, there would be too many cars chasing a few customers, suppressing the price and making it unattractive to owners.
You can argue that there are lots of private cars sitting idle overnight, but there won't be many customers then.
I can see Tesla's fleet replacing human taxi drivers, but not much more. I just want a reasonably priced car for my own use. FSD isn't important to those of us who actually enjoy driving.
I’m just laughing at how Elon cuts through all the crap! 😂
What's the reasoning behind not being able to transfer FSD, if it is software anyway? It seems like a database entry. What would be the issue?
"we've reduced the subscription price to $99 a month so it's easy to try out" on the earnings call... why does this sound to me this will either increase, discontinued to push full purchase of FSD only?
1:16 It sounds to me like Tesla has decided to do what Apple did and create a Model 3 SE and/or Model Y SE. The SE line of iPhones uses aspects of newer gen stuff like the processor, cameras, etc. but is built on older chassis using previously established manufacturing lines to save on R&D costs. So I guess all-new Model 2 is cancelled and replaced with the "SE" line of Model 3 and/or Model Y. Not exactly what I hoped for but if it worked for Apple maybe it will work for Tesla? Maybe we'll get actual next gen consumer vehicle in 2-3 years?
Incorrect, Model 2 will be based on the same production line as the Robotaxi. Not cancelled, but deprioritized due to recent developments with FSD.
Keep doing what you are doing. You are a great icon for my grandsons
He didn't admit it but it sounds like he's shifting his workload back to Tesla from SpaceX.
The idea of selling Optimus is like selling a smartphone you can do whtevr u want with it and the manufacture just send a software update 🎉 u are responsible for wht task the robot do not the factory 😊

🎉❤😊 We need to fund major upgrades to our grid, and I recommend we look into tapping into insurance companies who sit on very large amounts of money. Imagine the return to prosperity with these investments ✨️
Thank you so much, Farzad, for all your videos. I really appreciate listening to Elon's conversations on technology. I believe in striving for curious and conscientious reliable technology. ❤😊✨️
“Tapping”? What do you mean?
Musk wasn't "depressed' during the Q4 earnings call, he just wasn't trying to hype anything.
They don't know how to project battery access & costs if the government incentives can come and go whenever. This is the perfect example of why we should just let the market run.
Blows my mind how so many believe FSD will never happen ever. Thanks for this supercut Farzad! Question: is FSD ($8,000) required if you want to have your car join the Robo taxi fleet for example?
“We are putting the auto in automobile” - Elon
After this call, I get the feeling Tesla isn't really focussing on 4680s anymore as the center piece of their existence - sees it more as one of the many puzzle pieces to create electricity hardware that can power AI.
I guess my question is, as ICE declines, in China, that increases the costs for ICE everywhere China provides parts.
That will take several years, but....
Yes, and the problem European makers have is that they are required to stock parts for any car they have sold in the last ten years. How do they do that when the supplier companies that made the parts don't exist anymore? There's going to be a lot of pain as the cost advantage of scale goes into reverse.
Chine just passed 50% sales are BEV last month..., but, they are over producing BEV's at the moment.
That's what 3D printers are for
I didn't understand why instead of saying something like "Tesla believes pure EVs, not hybrids is the way to go" say because it's not the best of both worlds, it's the worst. Why lug around the gas and engine and be less efficient? As well as when driving on gas you are less efficient because you are lugging around a battery and more
We all know this but most don't understand this.
Just look at the data for fire risk after an accident. Hybrids are the worst, cause they’re not optimized for either technology.
i want a tiny fuelcell for heat would be funny to mock others
Quite simple, you can stop and get gas in 4-5 minutes and generally get more range from that 4-5 minute stop than 30 minute stop in an EV. Now that PHEV are starting to push 18+kwh batteries and > 100hp full electric they are more efficient on *time* when driving long treks and you can still drive 95% of your daily driving in full EV mode. We have a model Y and it chews electricity at freeways speeds because the lack of gearing efficiency so our 7 hour trek to the cottage becomes 9 hours. So yes, PHEV is a very viable solution for boomers who want convenience and ease of use and have money.
@@PeteNPiano And your risk of fire increases. Over a hundred times the risk of a BEV.
My question is how will robotaxis be charging autonomously?
They could be summoned to a charger with a robot waiting to plug them in.
Since this probably won't be happening tomorrow, I'm sure the technology to place the charger in the ground will be available at a cost affordable to the common person. Until then, the owner of the vehicle will still have to plug them in. Unless Tesla is just sending out a bunch of unmanned vehicles that belong to nobody
My guess is that the charger would be like an autonomous snake plugging into the car. Though if every single charger would have that I would probably be a high total cost for the company. Until then they will probably have a worker plugging and unplugging the vehicles at the super charging stations. Thats just my guess
Question: if Elon uses Tesla cash in a share buy back to bring his holdings to over 25%, how many shares must Tesla buy back?

The sub 25k car - why does he not want to comment on it at all? 9:15 9:55
EV's need to be affordable for/from the beneficiary to the CEO.
People really don't understand how huge the robotaxi nextwork will be. I have been thinking about getting a car, but I don't drive much at all. So I was waiting for the new $25k model. Now with access to the Robotaxi network, I may not need to buy a car.... OR! I could buy my car and just leave it full time in the Robotaxi network. I won't be emotionally invested in it because I'm renting it to other people from the start with the idea of making money and having it pay for itself. I will use it when I want and rent it out the rest of the time. If I can generate just $100/day, that's $3000/month. It's going to be huge and Tesla will not be able to meet the demand.

30,000 workers? What?

Do you think China is gonna let another CEO take over the factory?
300 Billion miles in FSD is mathematically impossible at this time with the currently number of vehicles using g FSD. I am surprised no one has calculated this prIor. I do not think that ALL vehicles of Tesla since the first Roadster have cumulatively driven 300 Billion miles.
Tesla recently hit 1 billion miles driven on FSD. It's been around 300 million this year.
If Tesla use my car computer, I would like to be able to be paid for it's use of electricity at least.
When tesla have FSD then all other car makers will have FSD soon after... its not going to be significant only for Tesla.
How many people is tesla laying off ???

As many as it takes to efficiently run the business.

A car I don't have to drive and it's used by others. Elon just invented the taxi.
A taxi that could earn you additional income while you are at work.
@@hardcoreherbivore4730 Income that won't be enough to pay for the car insurance (if you can't actually get one).
@@migpinx Gotta love the internet, dumb people in mass. You’re paying for insurance for the car to sit there doing nothing. 🙄
@@hardcoreherbivore4730 First of all, I find your self awareness refreshing.
No insurance company will insure a car that is driven by an undetermined number of drivers, with an undetermined record. If they do, they will charge an outrageous amount of money that will be even higher for an EV. The TCO will be so high that if the concern is the utilisation rate of the car, one might as well take a Taxi everywhere.

Elon didn’t show a robotaxi or 25k car. He’s just talking about it. Plus there is no margin in a 25k car let alone demand!
That’s August 8th, where have you been!? This is an investor earnings call.
You’re not considering the continued revenue from FSD. Doesn’t matter if they sell volume cars at cost, with on going revenue from FSD subscriptions.
No market for a $25k car!? 🤣
Still only evaluating as an auto company. When will people learn?
Your car can mine bitcoin
I'm a Tesla bull but to put things in perspective - In reality, nothing has changed (same financial/production/demand problems as before). But in the hopium world, things have changed - the main issue being the accelerating of the future production timeline of Tesla's cheaper car(s)... with a changed caveat - instead of pulling this off with new Gigafactories, they'll retool existing factories. Which calls to question - no brand new models, but instead just tweaked existing models with lower COGS ? It's all exciting, but nothing will change unless Musk can execute all this hopium "on time" (that's always been an achilles heel). And the execution of all his other hopes stated in the earnings call. The talkin' was done - now ya gotta walk the walk. That's what the investors truly want to see before a s*-ton of money piles back into Tesla stock
They do need newer models though. They need two non luxury priced SUVs, not crossovers but actual SUVs which Americans lkve and they need a cheap 25-30k small SUV or hatchback. And a midsize truck in the future also. There’s so many Teslas bere in California and people are getting tired of seing the same models.
Let’s be clear - the real future for TSLA is FSD, Optimus and to a smaller extent the battery storage/energy business. All TSLA EVs are part of this FSD project.
FSD has to be much better than a great driver- you- to be viable. Also all the regulatory approvals per state+ country have to be obtained.
At present FSD is not solved, it has a ways to go for all situations. The assumption is scaling with more compute and data gets us to superhuman driving ability. Perhaps this solves the problem or perhaps you get stuck in an endless march of 9’s.
Optimus is also another wildcard.
FSD and Optimus working at comparable human level makes TSLA the most profitable company in the world by a huge margin. The stock price today at $160, $120 or $300 doesn’t matter then. But TSLA has to solve a problem that has never been solved before to achieve these goals.
TSLA could determine if EVs were technically feasible. There was no need to invent a fundamental new technology for FSD/optimus .
I hope they succeed and there is no other company betting the farm on this future and that is incredible to watch.
Remember, new models are promised for end of this year or early next year. Ramp takes time and Elon time dilation applies …
Here's what really happened in Q1 of 2024:
Income imploded 55% to $1.1 Billion
Revenue imploded 9% to $21.3 Billion

and the stock market went nuts and went up instead of down.
Oh, and GM went almost the exact opposite way, and no talk of turning your car into a robot taxi.
Show me a year since 2019 where Q1 didn’t show similar numbers!? 😆
@@hardcoreherbivore4730 nothing like failing over and over again. I see your point.
