My Tefal rice cooker had the same problem. showing EO on display and I saw the same broken wire inside. patched it up with some wire i found at home and its working again! thank you! the links are useful
I owe you a lot sir, i was really disappointed today that our Tefal rice cooker started to just throw the “E0” error. A few months before it was just throwing the error when the lid is open, today as you plug it in it will always give the E0 error making it unusable. This seems to be a design flaw as they used a wire that is prone to damage after years of opening and closing the lid. As asians, wherein rice is a huge part of our diet, your fix was a huge help sire! Was already looking for replacement, and having it fixed. Anyway, Thanks again!!!
Yes, it does seem like a design flaw. I can't recall ever hearing about an electric window in a car door failing because of a break at the hinge. I haven't come across an intermittent E0 fault before, thanks for sharing that.
@@twominds2006 nailed it 100%.i was going to sent it on repair service but pandemic is stil going.lucky for me i search on youtube and find your videos.very much appreciate what did you show on your video and learn a lot.thx again lad!!!
Sorry I've just seen this now, I presume you've done something about this already. If not, if the rice cooker is out of warranty, and you're in the UK, then I would contact Tefal UK Customer Service and ask them what your options are.
I talk a bit about getting the top cover of the lid off in the video at 3:20 . If you haven't seen the Russian video, of the Moulinex fix, the first link in the description, it would be worth checking out, as he shows the process of getting the top cover of the lid off. (Starts at 1:46 in the video, with the hard part at 2:42). There are no subtitles currently available for the Russian video, but the visual is still useful.
If you're still having problems with the lid, then this part copy from a previous reply should be of use. All I did was rejoin the broken red wire on the right at the hinge. Since there wasn't much length left in the existing red wire, I had to add an additional wire. The extra wire is coloured black, so probably doesn't show well in the video. So I joined one end of the new black wire to the red wire coming up from the base of the cooker, and the other end of the black wire to the red wire coming from the centre of the lid. As I didn't know how much wire was needed, I used the whole black wire and had to take up the slack by looping it. So that might be causing confusion. Hope that is of some help.
@@twominds2006 hi Thanks for the video I figured it out when you mention open the hinge like a mobile phone case as before I wasn't sure to open the hinge incase it might be damaged but did it and all good, cheers...saved £64 if buying a new one
